Tidio Growth vs Starter: Is 250 Conversations Worth $25/Month More?
The short answer
Tidio Growth starts at $49.17 per month on annual billing, while Starter is $24.17, so the entry-level Growth upgrade is exactly $25 more per month. Starter includes 100 billable conversations; Growth starts at 250 and can scale to higher quotas. The upgrade also adds advanced analytics, permissions, automatic chat assignment, automatic replies, live typing preview, viewed-page history, and macros. That makes the purchase decision less about “more features” and more about whether your support volume or team workflow has outgrown Starter.

The first question is whether 100 conversations is enough
Starter is built around 100 billable conversations per month. Growth starts at 250 and can be configured higher. If you fully used each entry quota, the annual-billing headline price is about $0.24 per included Starter conversation versus about $0.20 at Growth’s 250-conversation entry point. That is only a planning ratio, not Tidio’s billing formula. The real trigger is whether your normal live-chat and ticket workload is repeatedly pushing past 100 conversations.
Growth adds team controls, not just a larger quota
Tidio’s current pricing and help pages list Growth features such as advanced analytics, permissions, automatic chat assignment, automatic solving/replies, live typing preview, viewed-pages history, macros, and other workflow tools. Those additions are easier to justify when several agents share customer conversations or when support needs consistent routing and reporting. A one-person or very small support operation may not benefit enough from these controls to justify the higher plan.
Starter remains a strong fit for smaller teams
Starter already includes live chat, ticketing, a live visitors list, operating hours, basic analytics and access to Tidio’s current support channels. For a small store or service business with fewer than 100 billable conversations each month, it can cover the core human-support workflow without paying for Growth’s collaboration layer. Tidio also offers a Free tier with 50 billable conversations, so very low-volume teams should compare that before paying at all.
Keep Lyro and Flows costs separate from the support-plan decision
The current pricing page treats customer-service conversations, Lyro AI conversations, and Flows visitors as separate usage dimensions. Starter and Growth include limited trial/one-off AI and Flows allowances, while larger Lyro or Flows usage can be added separately. That means upgrading to Growth should not be treated as “unlimited AI.” A business that needs more human support volume may justify Growth even without buying more AI, while a low-volume team with heavy AI usage may face a different cost pattern.
AFF is open, but approval still matters
Tidio’s official affiliate page says registration is free, the program is available to everyone, and affiliates can earn up to 30% commission with monthly payouts. “Up to” is important: it is not a guaranteed rate for every partner or sale. Toolnavia has not applied or been approved for Tidio, so affiliate tracking and paid referral CTAs remain disabled.
Before upgrading, check the last two or three months of billable conversations. If you consistently stay below 100 and do not need permissions, automatic assignment, advanced analytics or macros, Starter is likely enough. If you are repeatedly crossing that limit or adding agents who need workflow controls, Growth’s $25 monthly premium has a clear operational reason.
