SE Ranking Growth Annual vs Monthly: Save $669.60 or Keep Cash Flexible?

The short answer

SE Ranking Growth costs **US$279 month-to-month** or **US$223.20 per month on annual billing**. Over twelve months, that is **US$3,348** versus **US$2,678.40**, a nominal saving of **US$669.60**. The official pricing page says the annual plan is billed upfront, which would put **US$2,399.40 more cash** into the first invoice than the monthly option.

There is one important official-source conflict. The current billing FAQ also says all Core and Growth plans are billed monthly, even though the pricing page distinguishes monthly and annual billing and explicitly describes annual prepayment. This guide uses the public pricing page for the annual cash model, discloses the contradiction, and tells buyers to verify the final checkout before committing.

Quick verdict

Choose **monthly Growth** when you are still validating client count, keyword usage, team adoption or add-on needs. It costs more over a full year but limits the first invoice to US$279 and preserves exit flexibility.

Choose **annual Growth** only when you expect to keep the same plan for at least ten months, can absorb a possible US$2,678.40 upfront invoice, and have confirmed the billing schedule shown in your account. The discount reaches US$669.60 only after a full twelve months.

This is a billing-cadence comparison, not a Growth-versus-Core feature comparison. Toolnavia already has a separate capacity guide for that plan decision.

First invoice and twelve-month total

The monthly path is simple: US$279 each billing cycle, or US$3,348 after twelve payments if the public price remains unchanged. The annual display is US$223.20 per month, which equals US$2,678.40 for twelve months. The nominal discount is exactly 20%: US$669.60.

If the annual total is collected upfront as the pricing FAQ states, the liquidity gap on day one is US$2,399.40. That cash could cover contractors, software add-ons or several months of client acquisition. The discount is valuable only if the commitment does not create a more expensive cash constraint.

Taxes, currency conversion, promotions and account-specific quotes are excluded. Do not use the monthly equivalent as if it were the first invoice.

The month-ten crossover

Monthly payments total US$2,511 after nine months. The tenth payment raises cumulative spend to US$2,790, which is US$111.60 above the modeled annual total. That makes **payment ten** the nominal crossover.

The result is practical: if you leave during months one through nine, the monthly path has used less cash. If you stay through month ten, the annual base price becomes lower—provided the annual amount was really US$2,678.40 and the unused commitment is not refundable.

At month twelve, the annual saving reaches US$669.60. This is not a guaranteed profit. It is the most you save on the base Growth subscription before tax and add-ons.

What Growth capacity you are committing to

Growth currently lists **30 projects, three manager seats and 5,000 daily tracked keywords**. It also includes project-lifetime historical data, guest links, page-change monitoring and dedicated customer support.

That capacity is large enough for many agencies, but the annual decision should follow real usage. Count active clients, targets per keyword, audit pages, GEO prompts and who truly needs a manager seat. The billing FAQ notes that inactive projects can continue consuming limits until their keywords, backlinks or projects are deleted.

Shared logins are not a substitute for seats. SE Ranking discourages credential sharing, and the public Growth row includes three managers. If the team will immediately need more users, include those charges before comparing cadences.

**Add-ons can outweigh the discount.**

The **Agency Pack starts at US$69 per month billed annually** and is available only with annual subscriptions. It covers agency-facing capabilities such as white-labeling and client tools.

Independent pricing analyses also warn that additional seats, keywords, AI Search capacity or API needs can push the invoice well above the headline Growth price. The correct comparison is therefore not merely US$279 versus US$223.20. It is the complete checkout for the required plan, add-ons and limits.

A US$669.60 base-plan saving disappears quickly if the team buys unnecessary extras or chooses Growth before its client volume supports the capacity.

Cancellation and refunds

SE Ranking says you can cancel at any time, but access continues until the end of the current billing period. Its refund guidance says paid but unused funds are generally non-refundable except when service obligations were not met or a special promotion says otherwise.

That distinction matters. “Cancel anytime” stops the next renewal; it does not promise a prorated refund of an annual prepayment. A team leaving after four months could still have eight months of non-refundable value tied up in the account.

The 14-day free trial requires no credit card and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription. Use it to test project imports, keyword targets, reporting, seats and client workflows before selecting a paid cadence.

Official billing conflict

The product page is specific: annual plans are billed upfront, and sales can discuss quarterly payments tied to an annual commitment. The help-center answer is broader and contradictory: it says current Core and Growth plans are billed monthly.

Because both are current first-party sources, this guide does not silently discard either. The cost table uses US$2,678.40 as the modeled annual invoice, but the checkout checklist requires confirmation of the actual charge schedule. If the account offers monthly charges at the annual rate, the liquidity and crossover analysis changes materially even though the twelve-month total does not.

**Who should choose each cadence?**

Choose monthly when the team has fewer than ten months of visibility, client churn is high, limits are untested, or conserving US$2,399.40 matters more than the maximum discount.

Choose annual when Growth is already embedded in recurring client delivery, the team can fund the commitment, required add-ons are known, and the live checkout confirms the annual charge. Free assisted migration can add value to the annual path for teams moving data from another platform.

A simple break-even question helps: is the expected US$669.60 saving larger than the value of cash flexibility and the risk of unused non-refundable months? If the answer is uncertain, monthly is the safer experiment.
