Verdict
pCloud Premium 500 GB is a sensible buy for personal sync, photo storage, and repeat client delivery when your public-download volume stays moderate. It is a poor substitute for a CDN or software-distribution host. The current Help Center says Premium includes 1,000 GB of shared-link traffic per month and up to 1 TB of upload traffic in 30 days, but one pCloud Lifetime pricing view still shows 500 GB of total shared-link traffic.
Because that difference can decide whether a popular link remains useful, verify the allowance shown for your exact billing option before paying.
Storage and link traffic are different limits
The plan stores 500 GB, but recipient downloads consume a separate shared-link traffic allowance. If the Help Center's 1,000 GB monthly figure applies to your account, a 10 GB delivery could be downloaded roughly 100 times before reaching the allowance. That is only planning arithmetic, not a performance promise: previews, repeat downloads, and multiple links all draw from the same pool.
When the shared-link limit is exceeded, your own files remain accessible. The important buyer boundary is external delivery: pCloud says paid pCloud users can still open the link, while free or anonymous recipients are blocked until traffic resets, you upgrade, or you buy more traffic. A link can therefore look “live” to you while failing for the client who needs it.
Four practical benefits—and where they stop
**A large delivery pool for ordinary projects.** One terabyte of monthly link traffic, if confirmed for the chosen plan, is generous for documents, photo galleries, and occasional video exports. It is not unlimited public distribution.
**Traffic statistics and link controls.** pCloud exposes shared-link statistics so you can watch usage rather than discover a cap from a customer complaint. Passwords and expiration dates can reduce casual redistribution, but they do not increase the allowance.
**Useful offline access with platform differences.** Desktop Sync keeps a two-way local copy and pushes changes after reconnection. Mobile offline files are download-only inside the app; edits made in another app require a manual upload. Crypto Folder files cannot be made available offline on mobile.
**A 30-day recovery window on paid plans.** Trash, Rewind, and file revisions can recover recent mistakes for 30 days. Extended File History is a separate paid feature, so Premium alone is not a long-term archive of every version.
Price, renewal, and the traffic conflict
The verified annual page lists Premium 500 GB at $49.99 per year, while a Lifetime view lists $199 as a one-time price. Annual subscriptions renew until cancelled; cancelling stops the next billing period but is not itself a refund request. Lifetime is defined as 99 years or the account holder's lifetime, whichever is shorter.
Extra link traffic is another cost boundary. pCloud currently lists an additional 2 TB at $9.99 monthly or $99.99 per year, versus a displayed $119.88 regular annual total. Heavy sharing can therefore erase part of the apparent saving versus a larger plan or a service with different transfer rules.
The unresolved point is the exact included traffic for every Premium billing variant. Current Help pages and one annual-price rendering say 1,000 GB, while another Lifetime pricing rendering says 500 GB. Do not silently choose the larger number. Check the checkout summary, your account's Plans page, and written support confirmation for the exact annual or Lifetime purchase.
For context, Dropbox documents 1 TB per day on several paid plans, Sync.com advertises unlimited paid-plan transfer but notes unusual high-traffic interruptions can occur, Google Drive can temporarily restrict heavily viewed files, and Icedrive charges anonymous downloads against the owner's bandwidth. These policies are not directly interchangeable, but they show why “500 GB storage” alone cannot answer a sharing question.
Next step
Buy Premium 500 GB if your main job is syncing personal files and sending controlled links to a known audience. Skip it for public installers, viral media, or any workflow where anonymous downloads must never pause.
Before checkout, multiply the largest delivery size by expected downloads, leave headroom for repeats, confirm whether your exact plan shows 1,000 GB or 500 GB, and save that confirmation. Toolnavia may earn a commission through its approved pCloud relationship without changing your price; the commercial route should appear only while the exact offer remains approved, market-confirmed, and enabled.
