Riverside Grow vs Pro: Are Live Streaming & 2 Studios Worth $120/Year More?
The short answer
Riverside Pro is currently $24 per month when billed annually, or $288 per year, while Grow is $34 per month, or $408 per year. The yearly gap is therefore $120. Monthly billing is $29 for Pro and $39 for Grow. The extra money does not buy more recording time—Riverside currently lists unlimited recording hours on both plans. It buys a second studio, 20 rather than 15 monthly hours of separate-track downloads, live streaming and multistreaming, plus publishing and audience-growth tools. For a creator who records one show and edits offline, Pro is often enough. Grow makes more sense when live distribution and operating more than one show or studio are already real requirements.

The $120 upgrade is mostly about going live and growing an audience
Pro already includes up to 4K local recording, 48 kHz audio, unlimited text-based editing, unlimited transcriptions, Magic Clips, show notes, podcast hosting and publishing, one studio and 15 hours per month of separate-track downloads. Grow keeps those capabilities and adds Full HD live streaming, multistreaming to unlimited destinations, custom RTMP, Omnichat, multi-aspect-ratio streaming, custom scenes and backstage speaker management. If you never stream live, a large part of the Grow premium may sit unused.
A second studio and extra track-download quota matter for multi-show workflows
Grow expands from one studio to two and from 15 to 20 hours per month of separate audio/video track downloads. This is useful for creators who run separate shows, brands or production setups and want them organized independently. The five-hour download increase is real but not huge, so Grow should not be justified by quota alone unless Pro's 15-hour limit is already tight. Recording itself remains unlimited; the quota applies to downloading separate tracks, not the length of all recording sessions.
Grow adds a publishing and audience layer
Current Grow features include social media scheduling, newsletter tools, a creator website, podcast hosting for two shows, video hosting, AI thumbnails, Riverside MCP and custom studio links. These additions can reduce the number of separate tools a creator uses for distribution and promotion. They do not guarantee audience growth, and some creators may already have preferred newsletter, website or scheduling products. In that case, the live-streaming tools and second studio should carry most of the upgrade decision.
Annual billing is the cleaner long-term comparison
Riverside's current plan FAQ says annual billing lowers Pro from $29 to $24 per month and Grow from $39 to $34. Both therefore preserve a $10 monthly difference regardless of billing cadence, while annual billing turns that into a fixed $120 yearly gap. New yearly Pro and Grow subscriptions can currently request a full refund if cancelled within 14 days; monthly subscriptions have a 24-hour refund window. This article uses the current Pro/Grow figures only and deliberately ignores stale legacy-plan markup and unrelated malformed Webinar rows still present in parts of Riverside's page source.
The affiliate program is open and currently advertises up to 20%
Riverside's current affiliate page is free to join, says applications take only a few minutes, and advertises up to 20% commission on qualifying subscriptions with monthly payouts. It is open to creators, educators and agencies with an audience. Toolnavia has not applied or been approved, so affiliate tracking remains disabled and no paid referral CTA is presented as active.
The buying rule is straightforward: stay on Pro if you mainly record and edit one show and 15 hours of monthly separate-track downloads is enough. Move to Grow when live streaming/multistreaming, a second studio, two-show hosting or Riverside's built-in promotion tools are already part of the workflow. Do not pay $120 more per year merely because the higher tier has a longer feature list.
