TOOLNAVIA / BUYING GUIDE
QuillBot Premium: $19.95 Monthly or $99.95 Annually?
The short answer
QuillBot Premium is worth considering when the Free plan's 125-word paraphrasing limit and basic modes interrupt real writing work. The current website prices Premium at $19.95 monthly, $39.95 every three months, or $99.95 annually. Premium removes the paraphrasing word cap, but several other tools still keep their own limits.
This is an official-document buying analysis, not a Toolnavia rewriting-quality, plagiarism-detection, or AI-detection accuracy test.

Free is enough until the 125-word workflow becomes friction
The current Free account includes Standard and Fluency paraphrasing modes, up to 125 words per paraphrase, a 1,200-word Summarizer, limited AI Detector access, and other capped AI features. Premium unlocks all nine paraphrasing modes, unlimited paraphrasing, advanced writing suggestions, tone insights, and broader AI-tool access.
That does not make every Premium feature unlimited. The current plan comparison lists a 6,000-word Summarizer limit and 25,000 plagiarism-checking words per month. Limits can also vary by platform; some current QuillBot surfaces display a smaller Free paraphrasing limit than the Help Center's 125-word figure. Check the tool and platform you actually use instead of assuming one number applies everywhere.
Four Premium gains, four boundaries to verify
**Rewrite longer passages without splitting every 125 words.** Premium removes the Paraphraser word cap and unlocks all modes, custom modes, Compare Modes, full synonym controls, and paraphrase history. That can reduce copy-paste friction on longer drafts. It does not prove the chosen rewrite is more accurate or appropriate; keep the original and review meaning, citations, and tone.
**Use larger editing and checking quotas.** Premium expands Summarizer, AI Detector, AI Chat, image generation, and other quotas. Plagiarism checking is included but remains capped at 25,000 words per month. A plagiarism result is a checking aid, not a guarantee that every source or citation issue has been found.
**Work across devices with one account.** Premium is tied to the QuillBot account rather than a single device and can be used on the website, mobile apps, browser extensions, and desktop apps. The Premium FAQ currently says access is limited to 10 devices at a time, so "all your devices" is not the same as unlimited simultaneous devices.
**Pause instead of immediately canceling.** QuillBot offers subscription pausing for temporary breaks; the renewal date shifts by the paused period. If you cancel instead, auto-renewal stops and Premium remains active until the end of the paid billing period. Record the new renewal date after a pause or cancellation.
$19.95 monthly, $39.95 quarterly, or $99.95 annually
The current upgrade page lists $19.95 for one month, $39.95 every three months, and $99.95 every 12 months. The quarterly plan therefore costs $159.80 for four unchanged billing periods in a year; twelve unchanged monthly payments would cost $239.40. The annual plan is the lowest current one-year outlay at $99.95, but only if you actually need Premium for most of the year.
All Premium subscriptions renew automatically by default. Cancellation disables future renewal rather than ending access immediately. Current refund guidance is stricter than many older reviews: refunds are issued only when required by law and under the governing terms, with a 14-day withdrawal right for eligible EEA/UK consumers. App-store purchases use Apple or Google refund processes. Do not buy on the assumption of a general money-back trial.
For context, Grammarly Pro currently costs $30 monthly or $144 annually; Wordtune's current annual pricing shows Advanced at $6.99/month equivalent and Unlimited at $9.99/month equivalent; LanguageTool Premium lists €19.90 monthly and €59.89 annually. These plans differ substantially in quotas, languages, AI features, and workflow, so this is a billing-and-scope comparison, not an accuracy ranking.
Suggested rehearsal: one real paragraph and one long document
Start on Free with a paragraph under 125 words. Try both free modes and note whether splitting larger text is actually slowing you down. Keep the original. If Premium is activated, paraphrase a longer disposable copy, compare multiple modes, and confirm that names, numbers, quotations, and citations still mean what you intended.
Then test one feature that remains bounded—such as a long summary or plagiarism check—and inspect the actual usage meter. Sign in on the devices you genuinely use and confirm the account behavior. These are proposed acceptance checks, not results Toolnavia has measured.
Buy for repeated workflow friction, not the word "unlimited"
Stay on Free when short paraphrases and basic modes are enough. Choose Premium when longer rewriting, advanced modes, and the expanded tool set repeatedly save work—and when the chosen billing period fits how long you need it. Keep separate quotas and the 10-device boundary in mind.
QuillBot's official PartnerStack affiliate program is currently open, with a 30-day cookie and cash commissions, but Toolnavia approval is unverified and tracking remains disabled.
