Verdict

MiniTool Partition Wizard Pro Annual is a $59/year, one-PC upgrade for Windows users who need more than Free's basic partition management. The important boundary is what Pro does not include: Data Recovery and Partition Recovery are reserved for higher editions. Buy Pro for paid disk-management, dynamic-disk, and OS-migration tasks—not because you assume every MiniTool recovery tool is bundled.

Free still handles a lot of routine partition work

MiniTool Free can create, delete, format, resize, extend, merge, split, and inspect partitions on basic MBR/GPT disks. Current help also covers removable drives and common partition operations. If your task is routine space management on a basic Windows disk, Free may already be enough.

The paid boundary becomes clearer with more advanced layouts. MiniTool's help says Free does not manage volumes or dynamic disks, and converting a dynamic disk to basic requires Professional or higher.

OS migration also has Free restrictions. The current migration guide notes limitations around MBR-to-GPT target workflows in Free, while paid editions unlock broader system-migration and disk-management options.

What the $59 Pro Annual license buys

**One Windows PC for one year.** The current in-app purchase page lists Pro Annual at $59. The EULA says the annual Pro license is for one computer and includes one year of upgrade service. Windows Server is not included in this personal Pro license.

**Full paid partition-management features.** Pro is the first personal paid tier for advanced disk-management operations beyond the Free limits, including dynamic-disk work and broader OS/disk workflows.

**Higher support priority.** MiniTool advertises 24×7 support, while licensed and registered users receive higher priority than Free Edition users. Support priority is useful when a disk operation fails, but it is not a guarantee of recovery success.

**Boot and migration workflows that deserve a rehearsal.** Before changing a system disk, test the exact operation on noncritical storage where possible. For disk copy or OS migration, MiniTool warns that target-disk data can be deleted and that GPT/UEFI choices matter for bootability.

Pro is not the data-recovery tier

This is the easiest buying mistake to make. MiniTool's current FAQ explicitly says Pro Annual does not support Data Recovery or Partition Recovery. If those functions are the reason you are paying, Pro is the wrong license.

The current paid ladder is:

- Pro Annual: $59/year, 1 PC. - Pro Platinum Annual: $109/year, up to 3 PCs, adds Data Recovery and Partition Recovery. - Pro Ultimate: $159 perpetual, up to 5 PCs, includes recovery functions and lifetime upgrades.

That means Platinum costs $50 more than Pro per year, while Ultimate costs $100 more upfront than one Pro year. Those figures compare current purchase prices only; they do not predict future subscription renewal pricing.

Renewal and refund need separate checks

MiniTool's sales policy says automatic maintenance renewal uses the then-applicable renewal fee at the end of the maintenance period. The current public Pro page does not establish a guaranteed future renewal amount, so do not assume next year's charge will always be $59.

For an initial annual purchase, the current refund policy requires a refund request within 30 days. For an automatic renewal, the request window is seven days after renewal. The same policy lists important exclusions, including buyer's remorse and cases where the software has successfully completed its intended task.

Those conditions make the Free edition useful before buying: confirm that the paid-only operation you actually need is the one Pro unlocks.

Market context

AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro currently lists $49.95/year for two PCs with auto-renewal, and a $69.95 lifetime option for two PCs. EaseUS Partition Master Pro currently lists $49.95/year for two PCs with auto-renewal and a $69.95 lifetime option. DiskGenius Professional lists $99.90 for a one-year, one-PC license with no renewal fees, while its Free edition already covers many partition, cloning, and migration tasks. These are licensing-and-scope comparisons, not speed or safety rankings.

Next step

Stay on Free for basic partition work on standard disks. Choose Pro Annual when one PC needs a paid disk-management or OS-migration feature that Free blocks. If your real goal is data or partition recovery, skip Pro and compare Platinum or Ultimate instead.
