Kajabi Growth vs Basic: Are 50 Products & Affiliates Worth $56/Month More?

The short answer

Kajabi Basic costs $143 per month when billed annually and Growth costs $199, so the upgrade is $56 per month or $672 per year. Products rise from 5 to 50, contacts from 2,500 to 25,000 and admin users from 2 to 11. Growth also unlocks Kajabi's built-in Affiliates feature, advanced automations and webhooks. If one creator sells only a few offers to a small list, Basic can still be enough. Growth becomes easier to justify once product count, list size, team access or affiliate selling is a real operational requirement.

Products and contacts increase 10× or more

Basic includes 5 products and 2,500 contacts; Growth includes 50 products and 25,000 contacts. A course, coaching offer, membership or other sellable digital experience can consume product capacity, so five slots can disappear faster than expected. Kajabi also supports paid limit increases on current plans—for example, additional products, contacts and admin users can be purchased in defined blocks. That gives buyers near only one limit an alternative to a full plan jump. A business with two or three evergreen products and a list below 2,500 should not pay $672 more per year just for unused headroom.

The Affiliates feature is a true Growth gate

Kajabi's current Help Center states that the seller-side Affiliates feature is available only on Growth and Pro. It lets a Kajabi business register affiliates, track conversions, assign commissions, create share links or affiliate coupons and manage payouts. This is different from joining Kajabi's own Partner Program to refer new Kajabi customers. A creator without a partner-sales strategy gets no automatic value from this feature.

Growth also changes automation and team capacity

Growth supports 11 admin users versus 2 on Basic and adds advanced automations and webhooks. Those differences matter when marketers, assistants, coaches or support staff need separate access and when workflows must trigger actions across a larger customer lifecycle. A solo creator who rarely uses automation can reasonably stay on Basic.

Payment economics improve slightly on Growth

For U.S. Kajabi Payments, the current pricing page lists 2.9% + $0.30 on Basic and 2.8% + $0.30 on Growth. If an eligible U.S. business uses a third-party payment provider instead of Kajabi Payments, Kajabi currently lists an additional 2% provider fee on Basic versus 1% on Growth, excluding PayPal and subject to regional availability. These differences can reinforce the upgrade for a higher-volume seller, but processor costs and country rules remain separate.

Kajabi's own Partner Program has conflicting official pages

Kajabi's recently updated Help Center uses a tiered partner model: Starter Partners receive a one-time bounty equal to 100% of the referral's first month, while Builder, Accelerator and Premium tiers earn 10%, 15% or 20% recurring commission based on active referred Heroes. However, an older Kajabi Partner homepage still displays 30% lifetime wording. This article uses the newer Help Center as the current control and treats the older page as legacy messaging. Toolnavia has not been approved, so no partner tracking is enabled.

Choose Basic when 5 products, 2,500 contacts and 2 admins genuinely cover the business. Choose Growth when the catalog, list or team is already larger, or when running your own affiliate program and advanced automations is part of the go-to-market plan.
