Verdict

Freshdesk Growth currently costs $19 per agent per month when billed annually, or a static $228 per agent for 12 months at the displayed rate. The headline price is only the base helpdesk seat cost. Growth includes the first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions once per account—not 500 every month—and additional AI sessions cost $49 per 100. Connector tasks, MCP actions, and occasional-agent day passes can add more.

What the $19 Growth plan includes

Growth includes ticketing and a shared inbox, customer portal and knowledge base, out-of-the-box analytics and reporting, threads and tasks, and roles and permissions. The current plan also gives the account its first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions so a team can evaluate AI-assisted support before buying extra session packs.

For one agent, the displayed annual seat cost is $19 × 12 = $228. Five agents would be a nominal $1,140 per year before taxes and add-ons. That math is useful for the human-seat budget, but it does not describe the full AI or integration bill.

The 500 AI sessions are one-time, not monthly

Freshdesk's current FAQ says Growth, Pro, and Enterprise accounts receive 500 free Freddy AI Agent sessions to try the feature, and that this allowance is limited to once per account. After those sessions are exhausted, additional packs cost $49 per 100 sessions.

Freshworks defines an AI Agent session around the end user's interaction window rather than every individual message, so do not estimate cost by simply counting replies. Additional session packs are tied to the billing cycle and expire with that cycle.

Growth also lists other paid extensions: day passes at $2 each, connector app tasks at $80 per 5,000 tasks, and MCP actions at $15 per 1,000 additional actions. These should be modeled separately from agent seats.

Annual commitment needs more attention than "cancel anytime"

Freshdesk's pricing FAQ says you can cancel without a cancellation fee, but cancellation or downgrade takes effect at the end of the current term. Freshworks' formal Terms add the important financial boundary: payment obligations are generally non-cancelable and non-refundable except where the agreement expressly allows otherwise.

During the subscription term, customers cannot reduce the user count or downgrade the service plan. Unless Freshworks receives written notice of non-renewal or downgrade at least 30 days before the term ends, the subscription renews with the same number of users, the same plan, and the same add-ons for a term equal to the previous one.

Freshworks may also adjust renewal fees with at least 30 days' notice. For an annual Growth purchase, save the order and create a renewal-review reminder well before that notice deadline rather than assuming next year's seat price will remain $19.

Use the 14-day trial before locking the team size

Freshdesk currently provides a 14-day all-access trial with no credit card, using Enterprise-level access for the evaluation. That is useful for testing ticket routing, knowledge base workflows, reports, AI sessions, and the agent experience before choosing Growth.

There is a data-retention catch. Freshworks' Terms say trial customers should export data before the trial ends; once the trial expires, Freshworks may suspend access and has no obligation to retain trial data. Do not load irreplaceable support history into a trial without an export plan.

Freshdesk still documents a Free plan for up to two agents, so a very small team can also evaluate whether basic ticketing is enough before moving to Growth.

How nearby help desks price the same problem

Zendesk Support Team is currently $19 per agent per month paid yearly, or $25 monthly, with core email ticketing, routing, analytics, responses, and automations. Intercom Essential is $29 per seat per month on annual billing, while Fin AI Agent usage starts at $0.99 per outcome.

Help Scout Standard currently displays $25 per user per month and includes multiple inboxes, live chat and messaging channels, knowledge bases, basic workflows, and an AI Inbox assistant. Zoho Desk Standard is currently shown at $14 per agent per month billed annually. These are pricing-and-scope references, not support-quality or AI-resolution rankings.

Next step

Start with the 14-day trial using a representative ticket volume and the real number of agents. Track how quickly the one-time 500 AI sessions are consumed and whether connector or MCP usage matters. If Growth fits, budget the annual seat fee and add-ons separately, and set the non-renewal review date at least 30 days before term end.

Freshworks' current affiliate program explicitly lists Freshdesk as a promotable product. The March 31, 2026 agreement starts affiliates at 20% of first-year subscription revenue, with performance tiers up to 30%, for up to 12 months. Toolnavia approval and an active tracking link are unverified, so affiliate tracking remains disabled.
