Verdict

EdrawMax is easier to choose when you separate desktop ownership from the online and cloud services around it. The current general US store lists the Annual Plan at $99 and the Perpetual Plan at $198. The annual plan gives one year of access across desktop, mobile, and EdrawMax Online, while the perpetual plan keeps the current desktop major version indefinitely but limits mobile/online access and 10GB cloud storage to three years.

What the $99 annual baseline buys

The current Annual Plan includes one year of EdrawMax on three PCs, three mobile devices, and EdrawMax Online, plus all features, 1GB cloud storage, current templates and symbols, and one year of upgrades and priority support. It is a recurring subscription and renews unless canceled.

The official pricing surface is not perfectly consistent today. The general store and plan table show $99, while a dynamically rendered pricing area can surface a lower annual promotion such as $89. This guide uses $99 as the stable general-store baseline; the live checkout controls the actual price, tax, and promotion.

What “perpetual” actually means

The current Perpetual Plan is $198 one-time. “Lifetime everything” would be misleading: Edraw's current US page says you can keep using EdrawMax V16 on desktop forever, while mobile and EdrawMax Online access last three years, 10GB cloud storage lasts three years, and free upgrades plus priority support are included for one year.

Edraw's own license FAQ also explains the version logic: the purchased desktop major version remains usable, while a later major-version upgrade can require a new perpetual license. The perpetual plan is ownership of the current desktop generation, not unlimited entitlement to every future major release.

Free Trial is useful for evaluation, not clean delivery

EdrawMax's Free Trial can create diagrams, but the current comparison shows real production limits. Exports and prints carry a default watermark, only the first two built-in templates are available, history/version handling is restricted, and some Visio/CAD import operations are limited.

That makes the trial useful for testing real Visio files, diagram types, templates, connectors, and platform workflow. If the final deliverable must export without an Edraw watermark, the Free Trial is not the finished-production tier.

Renewal and refund boundaries

Subscription plans renew automatically unless canceled. Edraw's current cancellation terms say service continues through the contracted term after cancellation and the company can change a plan rate with notice. Today's $99 baseline therefore is not a guaranteed renewal amount forever.

The current 30-day money-back policy applies only under accepted circumstances. Edraw's subscription terms explicitly say the 30-day policy does not apply to automatic-renewal charges. If you do not want another term, cancel before the next renewal date.

Perpetual is a one-time purchase. If an annual subscriber later upgrades to a lifetime/perpetual plan, Edraw's FAQ says previously paid subscription fees are not deducted from the lifetime-plan price.

How alternatives frame the decision

Microsoft Visio Plan 1 currently costs $5/user/month paid yearly in the US, while Visio Plan 2 is $15/user/month paid yearly and adds the desktop app, advanced engineering/process diagrams, AutoCAD support, and deeper Microsoft integrations. Visio Standard 2024 is $309.99 one-time for one PC.

Lucidchart currently offers a Free plan with three editable documents and 60 shapes per document; its Individual plan is $9/month plus tax with unlimited documents and shapes, premium templates, and Visio import/export. Miro Business is currently $20/member/month billed annually and emphasizes collaborative boards plus 3,900+ diagramming shapes. These are pricing-and-workflow comparisons, not diagram-quality rankings.

Next step

Choose the $99 annual baseline if you want the lower upfront cost and one year of desktop, mobile, online, cloud, upgrades, and support. Choose the $198 perpetual plan when owning the current desktop major version matters more than maintaining the subscription, while accepting that mobile/online/cloud benefits are time-limited.

Before paying, verify the live checkout because official Edraw pages currently show different annual promotional amounts. Wondershare's affiliate program explicitly includes Edraw and currently starts at 30% commission per sale, scaling up to 50%; automatic subscription renewals are not commissionable. Toolnavia approval remains unverified, so tracking stays disabled.
