DemoCreator Video Sharing: Check Link Access Before Sending a Draft
The short answer
DemoCreator's yearly plan can suit a solo creator who repeatedly records, edits and shares draft videos for review. Before paying, check whether recipients can open the intended version, respond as needed and lose link access when review ends.

At a glance
- Best for
- A solo creator who repeatedly captures and edits tutorials, needs modest cloud review, and can verify password/expiry and recipient behavior on the active yearly account.
- Price model
- US$59.99/year public reference; auto-renews. Optional Visual Assets is separate: seven days free, then US$15.99/month. Verify the selected order.
- Check first
- Teams requiring proven email-bound access, SSO, immutable approvals or long-term cloud retention; users who only need a local movie and already have an adequate host; buyers assuming perpetual includes all cloud controls.
Choose what the reviewer should receive
An editable **.dcsproj project** needs DemoCreator; it is not a normal movie that another player can open. The Windows export guide documents MP4 and other outputs, with encoder, resolution, frame-rate and bitrate controls. Export a movie when the recipient only needs playback. Keep the project and original media separately for revisions.
A hosted link points to a viewing destination. It does not establish that editable projects and their dependencies synchronize between computers. Decide separately whether the recipient needs to view, comment, download or edit. Feedback may require only viewing and comments.
Four useful parts of the review workflow
- **A usable local handoff.** Export settings let you prepare a movie for an agreed player or host. Check playback outside the editor; the movie does not preserve the same editable project structure.
- **One hosted draft to reference.** A link can keep a small review conversation focused on one uploaded copy. The paid table lists **1 GB**, not unlimited storage; verify available capacity and retain a local master.
- **Password and expiry controls.** The yearly column includes both, allowing a review window with an access barrier. A password does not identify a named viewer, and expiry cannot recall copies already obtained.
- **Discussion beside the video.** Comments and reactions can keep feedback near the draft. A comment is not automatically authenticated approval, and the reviewed material does not establish an immutable decision record. Record the version and decision yourself.
Read the cloud rows before choosing a plan
The current comparison distinguishes these entitlements:
| Cloud item | Yearly | Perpetual | | --- | --- | --- | | Storage | 1 GB | 1 GB | | Password protection | Included | Excluded | | Link expiry | Included | Excluded | | Commenting and reviewing | Included | Excluded |
The homepage advertises **512 MB free**, but the storefront's trial cloud-storage cell shows an exclusion. The scope difference remains unresolved, so confirm the actual account quota instead of budgeting from a free allowance.
Identify the current hosting destination too. Older DemoAir help describes Google Drive storage and unlimited free recording; that does not establish today's desktop or Cloud Drive entitlement. The retrieved guides do not map every current cloud control.
Test the link outside the owner's session
Use this proposed procedure with a short, non-sensitive sample:
1. Give the draft a unique revision identifier. Export it, play it outside DemoCreator, and retain its local master and source project.
2. Check the actual host, plan and remaining quota. Configure the password and expiry where available. Write down whether viewing, commenting and downloading should each be allowed; do not infer a download-disable control from general sharing language.
3. Open the test link in a separate browser profile without the owner's sign-in. Check access without credentials and with a wrong password, then try the intended credentials. Owner playback does not establish recipient access.
4. Inspect the actual viewer's comment and download options. Note whether an identity is verified or merely a typed display name. Record observed behavior rather than treating a visible comment as a formal approval.
5. After the test expiry or an available access-removal action, retry as the viewer. Confirm that future access ends as intended. Keep the reviewed title, link, decision and date; previously obtained copies remain outside that check.
Leave the result fields blank until you perform these checks. If an essential control is absent, use an adequate existing host or obtain clarification before distributing the real draft.
Apply the destination's own sharing rules
For YouTube delivery, **unlisted** means anyone with the link can watch and reshare. **Private** can include selected recipients, but comments are unavailable. YouTube's own guidance corrects DemoAir help's narrower owner-only description. These rules apply to YouTube, not a DemoCreator-hosted link.
Microsoft documents specific-people links for its services, with recipient requirements varying by account context. TechSmith's Screencast FAQ allows anonymous viewing and comments. Those examples show why host and identity matter; neither proves DemoCreator has email allowlists, SSO or the same download controls.
Price the recurring workflow and retain a master
The Cross-Platform Yearly storefront shows **US$59.99/year** on October 28, 2026 and auto-renews. Confirm the selected platform, regional total, tax and renewal amount. The optional **Visual Assets** trial is separate and becomes **$15.99/month after seven days**; inspect its checkbox independently.
Choose yearly when its recording, editing and verified review route justify the recurring cost. If your existing host meets the need, cloud convenience may add little. Broader licensing is covered in our [DemoCreator plan guide](/en/software/democreator).
Retain the project, source media and final movie under your own storage process; the reviewed plan table does not establish cloud retention after downgrade or cancellation.
