Quick verdict
ClickFunnels Launch gives you **five custom domains**, but that does not mean only five funnels. ClickFunnels says a single connected domain can serve unlimited funnels. Launch is therefore a sensible fit for one brand—or a small group of brands—that can organize campaigns under five domains. The real upgrade trigger is not the number of landing pages. It is the moment you need a sixth distinct domain, a second isolated workspace, more team seats, or higher-tier automation.
Count brands, not funnel pages
A domain is the branded address visitors see. A funnel is a sequence of pages and steps under that address. Launch currently lists five custom domains, while its setup documentation says there is no limit to the number of funnels connected to one domain.
That distinction changes the purchase calculation. A single business can run a product launch, webinar registration, lead magnet and checkout under one root domain using separate paths or subdomains. Using a new domain for every campaign wastes the allowance and creates extra DNS, analytics and brand-management work.
Before paying, list every root domain you genuinely need during the next year. If the answer is one or two brands with many campaigns, five domains leaves useful headroom. If it is six client brands, Launch is already structurally too small.
Five domains still share one workspace
Launch includes one workspace and two team members. Five connected domains do not create five isolated client accounts, billing environments or permission sets. That matters for agencies and operators with separate brands.
Use Launch when the domains belong to the same operating business and can share products, team access and account governance. If every brand needs its own staff, settings or clean ownership boundary, the workspace limit may force an upgrade before the domain count does.
Root domain or subdomain?
Connecting a root domain can redirect the whole address to ClickFunnels. ClickFunnels warns that if an existing website already uses that root, changing its DNS may stop the old site from working. It recommends a subdomain such as funnels.example.com when the main site must remain elsewhere.
A subdomain is often the safer buying plan: keep the company site where it is, and connect a campaign or checkout subdomain to ClickFunnels. This preserves the main website and lets several funnels share the same branded address. Document which DNS provider controls the records and who can approve changes before launch day.
SSL is included, but launch is not instant
ClickFunnels provides hosting and generates SSL for connected domains. That removes the need to buy a separate certificate, but DNS still has to propagate. The automated setup guide says verification may complete quickly, while worldwide propagation can take up to 48 hours.
Do not move a live domain minutes before paid traffic starts. Connect and verify it early, wait for SSL to become active, and test the exact public URL on mobile and desktop. Also test redirects, checkout, email links and the fallback path for mistyped URLs.
**Domain purchase is a separate bill.**
ClickFunnels supplies a myclickfunnels.com address for testing, but a professional custom domain is separate. Its domain-purchase flow redirects registration to IONOS, which manages the domain and renewal. Keep the registrar login, renewal date and ownership email outside the funnel platform so the business does not lose control of its address.
Current reviews consistently treat domain allowance as part of plan capacity rather than a substitute for domain registration. The official pricing page controls the actual limit and checkout price.
When Launch fits—and when it does not
Choose Launch when you have one workspace, no more than five branded domains, two team members, and campaigns that can share domain paths or subdomains. The annual reference of $970 saves $194 versus twelve $97 monthly payments, but only if you are confident the architecture fits for a year.
Review Scale before purchase when a sixth domain is already planned, client brands need isolated workspaces, more teammates need access, or advanced API/workflow features are essential. Do not upgrade merely because you have many funnels: first check whether those funnels can live under the domains you already own.
A five-minute pre-purchase test
Draw five boxes and label the domains you expect to use. Under each, list every funnel that can share it. Mark the one workspace and the two people who need access. Then identify any existing root website that must stay online. If everything fits without inventing a sixth brand or separate workspace, Launch is a defensible choice. If it does not, the plan limit is visible before you commit.
