Verdict
Cisdem PDFMaster for Mac currently costs $49.99 for a one-year license or $79.99 for a personal Lifetime license on one Mac. The cheaper annual plan makes sense when you want to validate the workflow first; Lifetime becomes more interesting for longer use because Cisdem's current support FAQ says a one-time purchase provides lifetime access to the purchased program, including updates. AI features are not part of either base license—they use separate paid credits.
Start with the seven-day full-feature trial
Cisdem's current PDFMaster guide and FAQ say the Mac trial lasts seven days and exposes the full feature set. That lets you test actual work such as editing text and images, OCR on scanned PDFs, form creation, redaction, conversion, compression, comparison, signatures, and batch processing before buying.
Current technical specifications list both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs and macOS 11 through macOS 26 Tahoe. Verify the exact Mac you use before committing.
Use copies of representative documents. For OCR, compare the recognized text with the scan. For redaction, save a disposable copy and confirm the sensitive content is actually removed before using the workflow on a real document. These are proposed acceptance checks, not Toolnavia test results.
Annual $49.99 or Lifetime $79.99?
The current Mac store lists the 1-Mac Annual Plan at $49.99 and the personal Lifetime Plan at $79.99. A Business lifetime license is $99.99, but it is a different usage-rights product and is not the formal offer in this guide.
Two annual charges at today's $49.99 would total $99.98, which is $19.99 above today's $79.99 Lifetime price. That is only static arithmetic, not a guaranteed break-even. Cisdem subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled, while the exact PDFMaster renewal amount is not explicitly fixed on the current product page and prices can change.
Cisdem's current general FAQ says a one-year subscription receives updates during the valid license period, while a one-time purchase gives lifetime access to the purchased program including updates. That makes Lifetime materially different from products whose one-time option stops at one major version, but the promise applies to the program license—not to separate AI credits.
AI tools are a separate purchase layer
PDFMaster includes normal editing, OCR, conversion, forms, protection, redaction, comparison, and batch tools under the software license. Its AI tools—Summarize, Rewrite, Proofread, Translate, and DeepThink—require separate AI credits. The current store lists 50 credits at $14.99 with a 30-day limit.
Do not choose Annual versus Lifetime based on an assumption of unlimited AI. If AI processing is central to your workflow, budget software licensing and AI credits as two separate cost layers.
The 30-day “money-back guarantee” has conditions
The buy page displays a 30-day money-back guarantee, but Cisdem's support policy adds important conditions. It says refunds are intended for unresolved technical issues and lists exclusions such as purchasing the wrong platform, operator error, features that were never promised, change-of-mind requests, and personal-reason renewal refunds such as forgetting to cancel.
Annual subscriptions can have auto-renewal stopped through the payment provider or Cisdem support. Turning off renewal is therefore different from qualifying for a refund on an already processed charge. Try the seven-day full-feature trial before relying on the refund policy.
How the alternatives frame the price
PDF Expert currently costs $79.99/year across Mac, iPhone, and iPad, or $139.99 Lifetime for Mac only. Adobe Acrobat Standard is $14.99/month on an annual commitment, while Acrobat Pro is $19.99/month and adds advanced tools such as OCR, redaction, and web forms.
Wondershare PDFelement's current Windows page lists a $79.99/year auto-renewing plan and a heavily discounted $51.99 perpetual offer for PDFelement 13. That promotion is platform- and version-specific, so it is useful as pricing context rather than a direct Mac like-for-like comparison.
Next step
Use the seven-day trial on one edited PDF, one scanned/OCR document, and one redaction or form workflow. If those core tasks work and you expect to keep PDFMaster beyond roughly one current annual cycle, compare the live Annual renewal with the $79.99 Lifetime option before checkout. Keep AI credit costs separate.
