Avast vs Norton vs Bitdefender: Which Household Bundle Fits Your Devices?
The short answer
Household security bundles are easier to compare by device count and included services than by marketing names. Avast Premium Security currently covers up to 10 devices and shows a $99.99 annual renewal reference, with first-year Avast pages around $69.48–$69.99.
At a glance
- Best for
- A mixed-device household that needs up to 10 endpoint-security seats and does not necessarily need a bundled unlimited VPN.
- Price model
- Avast ~$69.48–69.99 first year / $99.99 renewal; Norton Deluxe $49.99 / $124.99 renewal; Bitdefender Premium $79.99 first year
- Check first
- Commercial comparison only; no malware-detection benchmark.
Avast is the capacity-first option in this comparison
A household with six to ten supported devices can use one Avast Premium Security subscription rather than immediately needing a second license. Platform features differ, and this article does not claim Avast protects better than another vendor.
Norton trades device count for a broader bundle
Norton 360 Deluxe currently lists $49.99 for the first year and $124.99/year renewal for five devices, with VPN, 50GB cloud backup, Password Manager, Parental Control and Dark Web Monitoring. If those bundled services replace separate subscriptions, the five-device limit can still be enough.
Bitdefender Premium Security emphasizes VPN
Bitdefender Premium Security currently shows $79.99 first year for five devices with unlimited VPN. That makes it useful when five devices are enough but a full VPN is a core requirement. Bitdefender also sells narrower lower-cost tiers.
Renewal matters more than the first-year promo
Avast's terms allow renewal pricing to change with advance notice and let users disable auto-renew while retaining the paid term. Its current annual consumer refund policy documents a 30-day request path.
Do not infer protection quality from price
Price, device count and bundle scope are commercial facts, not malware-detection results. ESET provides another current household-security option. Use current independent lab testing if your decision requires protection-quality ranking.

Buying rule
Choose Avast Premium Security when 6–10 supported devices need paid endpoint protection and you do not need a larger bundled VPN/identity suite. Compare Norton when its broader five-device bundle replaces other services; compare Bitdefender Premium Security when five devices plus unlimited VPN matches the household. Verify live checkout and renewal before paying.
