Verdict

Avast Premium Security for 10 devices is currently a straightforward security subscription with one annoying pricing wrinkle: Avast's own US pages show the first year at either $69.48 or $69.99, while both point to a $99.99/year renewal. The bigger decision is whether to stay with Premium Security or take Avast Ultimate when the first-year promo is nearly the same but Ultimate currently renews at $139.99/year.

The live first-year price differs by $0.51 across Avast pages

The current Premium Security product page shows the 10-device plan at $69.48 for the first year and says the renewal price is $99.99/year. Avast's current comparison and some store surfaces show $69.99 for the same 10-device first year, with the same $99.99/year renewal.

That small difference is enough to make the live checkout the price authority. This article therefore registers the current official range rather than pretending one promotional display is universal.

The 10-device subscription can cover Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. Avast also lets you replace a covered device by deactivating an existing seat first.

What Premium Security actually buys

Premium Security includes Avast's documented real-time malware protection, ransomware protection, fake-site and phishing defenses, advanced firewall controls, webcam protection, saved-password protection, Remote Access Shield, automatic app updates, and other platform-dependent security tools.

Those are product features, not Toolnavia benchmark results. This article does not claim Avast detects more malware, runs faster, or blocks more scams than a competitor.

The 10-device scope is useful for a mixed-device household because the same subscription can cover PCs, Macs, Android phones/tablets, and iPhones/iPads. If only one computer and one phone need coverage, the single-device route may be a better fit.

Why Ultimate can look irresistible in year one

Avast Ultimate for 10 devices currently shows about the same first-year promotional price as Premium Security: one official page shows $69.48 and Avast's comparison page can show $69.99. But Ultimate's current renewal is $139.99/year, which is $40 more than Premium Security's $99.99/year renewal.

Ultimate adds Avast SecureLine VPN, Cleanup Premium, and AntiTrack on top of the Premium Security layer. If you would pay for those tools anyway, the first-year bundle is easy to understand. The long-term question is whether those extras remain worth the additional $40/year at the currently published renewal prices.

Do not value the bundle as if every component exists identically on every device. Avast's current support page says Windows and Mac receive Premium Security, Cleanup Premium, SecureLine VPN, and AntiTrack. Android receives Mobile Security Premium, Cleanup Premium, and SecureLine VPN. iOS receives Mobile Security Premium and SecureLine VPN.

Renewal and refund are clearer than the intro price

Avast's current subscription terms say the renewal price can differ from the first paid period and that customers receive advance notice of the next charge. Auto-renewal can be switched off, after which the subscription remains usable through the already-paid period.

For annual consumer subscriptions, Avast's current refund policy allows a full refund request within 30 days of the initial purchase. Each subsequent annual charge is also eligible for a full refund when requested within 30 days of that charge. Canceling future renewal and requesting a refund are therefore separate actions.

That makes the current $99.99 Premium Security renewal more useful than a crossed-out reference price: it is the currently published next-year amount, while Avast still reserves the right to change future fees with notice.

Alternatives show the bundle trade-off

Bitdefender Antivirus Plus currently costs $29.99 for the first year for three devices and includes a VPN limited to 200 MB/day/device. Bitdefender Premium Security is $79.99 first year for five devices and includes unlimited VPN.

Norton 360 Deluxe currently costs $49.99 for the first year and renews at $124.99/year for five devices, with VPN, 50 GB cloud backup, Password Manager, Parental Control, and Dark Web Monitoring. ESET HOME Security Essential currently shows $59.99 on its US page for the selected multi-device starting configuration. These are pricing-and-scope references, not protection-quality rankings.

Next step

If you mainly want endpoint protection across up to 10 devices, Premium Security's current $99.99 renewal is the cleaner long-term commitment. If SecureLine VPN, Cleanup Premium, and AntiTrack solve real recurring needs, compare Ultimate's live first-year checkout—but budget the current $139.99 renewal separately.
