AIOSEO Plus vs Basic: Is 3 Sites Worth $50 More Before Renewal Doubles?
The short answer
AIOSEO Plus costs $99.50 for the first year versus Basic at $49.50, but the more important numbers are the regular annual prices shown above those offers: $199 for Plus and $99 for Basic. In other words, the first-year gap is $50, while the stated renewal gap is $100 per year. Plus raises the license from one site to three and unlocks Local SEO, Author SEO and Image SEO. If you run several WordPress sites or a local-business site that actually needs those modules, the upgrade can be sensible. A single ordinary blog may not need it.

Price the second year before choosing the first year
AIOSEO's current pricing page shows introductory first-year prices of $49.50 Basic and $99.50 Plus, with “normally” prices of $99 and $199. The site also explains that renewals move to the full price rather than repeating the introductory discount. This makes a two-year comparison more useful than the headline offer: Basic totals about $148.50 across the first two years, while Plus totals about $298.50, a $150 two-year difference before tax or future price changes.
The site-count math can make Plus economical
Basic covers one site; Plus covers up to three. At the current first-year offer, using Plus across three sites works out to about $33.17 per licensed site, versus $49.50 for one Basic license. At the displayed regular renewal prices, Plus across three sites is about $66.33 per site versus $99 for Basic's one site. Those are simple license-cost ratios, not a recommendation to activate Plus on sites that do not need its features. If you only own one WordPress site, the extra site capacity has zero value.
Local SEO is the strongest feature reason to move up
AIOSEO's current documentation says Local SEO is available on Plus and above. It adds local-business schema, location information, opening hours and support for multiple locations. For a restaurant, clinic, store, service-area business or multi-location company, that can be a meaningful difference from Basic. The boundary is equally important: Local SEO does not create Google Business Profile authority, citations, reviews or rankings by itself. It structures the site's local information; it does not guarantee search visibility.
Author SEO and Image SEO also begin at Plus
AIOSEO says its Author SEO (E-E-A-T) feature is available on Plus and above, with richer author/reviewer blocks and some capabilities reserved for Pro. Image SEO is also available from Plus and can automate image titles, alt text, captions, descriptions and filenames according to configured rules. These features are most useful on publisher, expert-led or image-heavy sites. If your site is small and you already maintain author profiles and image metadata manually, the feature list alone may not justify the extra cost.
The affiliate program is straightforward to apply for
AIOSEO's official affiliate program is free to join, has no monthly charge or minimum sales requirement, and explicitly allows applicants outside the United States. Its current FAQ and pricing pages say affiliates can earn a 20% commission on qualifying AIOSEO purchases, with commissions paid monthly after the program's validation period. Toolnavia has not applied or been approved, so affiliate tracking remains disabled and this article does not present an active paid referral link.
Before buying, answer two questions: do you really need more than one site, and do Local SEO, Author SEO or Image SEO solve a current problem? If both answers are no, Basic is the lower-risk purchase. If either is clearly yes, compare the $199 regular Plus renewal—not only the $99.50 first-year offer—before committing.
