Acronis Advanced vs Premium: Is 1TB Worth $52 More Than 50GB?
The short answer
Acronis Advanced and Premium are easiest to compare by cloud capacity, not by plan name. The current one-computer pricing page shows Advanced at $72.99/year with 50GB of Acronis Cloud and Premium at $124.99/year with 1TB. That is a $52 annual upgrade for 950GB of additional cloud capacity.

50GB can be enough for a deliberately small off-site set
If cloud backup is reserved for documents, selected photos and a narrow recovery set, 50GB may be sufficient. Advanced already adds Acronis Cloud, automatic replication and cloud recovery over the local-only Essentials tier.
1TB matters when system images or media enter the cloud plan
Large photo libraries, video projects or full-machine images can outgrow 50GB quickly. Premium's 1TB ceiling creates much more headroom. Use the size of the current backup source, expected growth and retention behavior to estimate that before paying.
Keep local and cloud costs conceptually separate
Acronis also supports files, folders, external drives, NAS and cloud destinations. Buyers can keep a local copy and use Acronis Cloud as an off-site layer rather than treating the subscription as cloud-only. Essentials at $49.99 is still the baseline for buyers who only want local backup.
Trial and renewal behavior still matter
Acronis documents True Image as subscription-only and provides a 30-day trial. Website subscriptions have auto-renewal enabled by default, and renewal management can be used to disable future charges. Capacity is only part of the decision; term and renewal should also be verified before checkout.
The $52 premium needs a real job
If the protected cloud set is 30GB and grows slowly, paying $52 more every year for unused capacity is weak value. If the set is already 200GB or includes system images and media, Advanced's 50GB cap becomes the obvious constraint.
Compare other backup ownership models
EaseUS, AOMEI and Macrium publish paid home backup products with different license structures. PCWorld and Tom's Guide provide broader Acronis workflow context, but the live Acronis page controls current plan pricing.
An older Acronis editorial page has shown a lower Advanced price; the live product page should override that older reference. Acronis also has a public CJ affiliate route, but Toolnavia approval and tracking are unverified here, so no affiliate tracking is enabled.
Buying rule
Choose Advanced when 50GB genuinely covers the off-site set you want to protect. Choose Premium when your real cloud recovery set can exceed 50GB and the extra 950GB prevents an immediate storage ceiling. If you only need local backup, compare Essentials first. Verify live price, tax, renewal and cloud allocation before checkout.
