Namecheap Stellar Email Storage: 30 Mailboxes Share 10GB
The short answer
Namecheap Stellar includes **30 cPanel mailboxes**, but those addresses do not each receive a large independent storage pool. Namecheap's current documentation says shared-hosting cPanel email storage must stay within **10GB total**, while the Stellar hosting account itself has 20GB SSD space. For a team planning long-term mail retention, that aggregate limit matters more than the headline mailbox count.
At a glance
- Best for
- Teams needing many lightweight addresses with less than 10GB total cPanel mail.
- Price model
- Email included with Stellar; billing varies by current term and checkout
- Check first
- Thirty mailboxes share a 10GB aggregate email policy; Private Email is separate; backups must be tested.
Thirty mailboxes share the email-storage policy
The 30-address allowance is useful for role inboxes and small teams, but all cPanel mail lives inside the same shared-hosting environment. If 20 active mailboxes each retain 500MB, the combined archive already reaches 10GB. The practical question is therefore not “Can I create another address?” but “How much of the shared mail budget is already occupied?”
Use mailbox quotas and regular archive reviews so one high-volume inbox does not crowd the rest of the account.
The 10GB email rule is not the same as the 20GB hosting disk
Stellar's plan advertises 20GB SSD, yet Namecheap separately states that shared-hosting email storage shall not exceed 10GB total. Website files, databases and mail therefore should not be treated as one interchangeable pool with no sub-limits.
This also explains why moving from Stellar to a higher-storage hosting plan is not automatically the same as moving to a dedicated email product. Verify the email-specific rule for the exact product you intend to use.
A complete email message can be 50MB
Namecheap caps a complete shared-hosting email message, including its attachments, at **50MB**. Large files consume mailbox space quickly and can also hit recipient-side limits even when Namecheap accepts the message.
For contracts, media or design assets, a secure file link is usually better than keeping repeated large attachments inside a 10GB shared-mail archive.
Private Email uses a different model
Namecheap Private Email is a separate service with different mailbox counts, storage and features. Its allowances should not be copied into Stellar cPanel email. Buyers who need large per-user mailboxes, collaboration, calendar features or a clearer per-seat storage model should compare Private Email separately.
Independent email-hosting guides make the same broad distinction between bundled web-host mail and dedicated mailbox services, but Namecheap's first-party pages remain the source for exact Stellar rules.
Backups should exist outside the live mailbox
Namecheap documents two useful export layers. Roundcube can export and re-import cPanel mail at the message/mailbox level. A full cPanel backup includes files, databases, email accounts and settings.
The two are complementary: a full account archive helps with whole-host migration, while a mailbox export can be easier to inspect independently. cPanel's own documentation describes the same general distinction between mailbox management and account backup, but provider-specific support and restoration remain controlled by Namecheap.
Stellar does not have the same AutoBackup workflow as higher tiers
Namecheap documents the AutoBackup cPanel plugin for Stellar Plus and Stellar Business. An entry Stellar buyer should therefore not assume the same self-service historical-backup interface is included. Keep your own scheduled exports or off-account copies before major changes and before a migration.
Purchase decision
**Stellar email is a good fit** when 30 addresses are useful, the entire mail archive stays comfortably under 10GB, large attachments are uncommon and the team maintains its own backups. **Consider Private Email or another dedicated business-email platform** when long-term archives, larger individual mailboxes, collaboration or compliance drive the requirement.
Before checkout, confirm the current 30-mailbox inclusion, the 10GB cPanel email-storage policy, billing term and any account-specific exceptions.
