Verdict
Namecheap Quasar with Complete Management publishes **100GB of offsite backup storage**, but the more important limit is **one retained copy**. Namecheap's current pages disagree on generation frequency: one says weekly, another says three times per week. Both say only one copy is kept. Treat 100GB as capacity, not as an archive with several historical versions.
Current public monthly components are $18.88 for Quasar, $25 for Complete Management and $17.88 for cPanel Solo: $61.76 before tax or extras. The annual Quasar display is $12.88/month billed yearly, $154.56 now and $190.56/year at renewal. Management and cPanel remain separate, so do not mix annual and monthly numbers as one captured cart.
What 100GB actually covers
Quasar includes 120GB SSD while Complete publishes 100GB offsite storage. A server can fit its local disk and still exceed the backup allocation. Namecheap says it will notify the customer when offsite space is insufficient; the customer must delete data or buy more storage.
Protected data can include files, databases, mail and account data. Raw disk usage is not a promise about generated backup size. More importantly, 100GB says nothing about history: the allocation can still contain just one restore point.
Weekly or three times weekly?
The management page says weekly backups and one guaranteed weekly copy when the account fits. The dedicated backup FAQ says Complete generates backups three times weekly but keeps only one copy. Cancellation guidance also describes overwrite and availability limits.
This guide does not choose a preferred frequency. Ask Namecheap to confirm the exact account schedule in writing. Even three generations per week with one retained copy is still one rollback point, not three selectable versions.
Cost scenarios: 80GB, 100GB and 130GB
At 80GB, data appears inside the allocation, but verify the generated size and leave growth room. At 100GB, there is no published safety margin. At 130GB, the public $10-per-10GB rate implies three blocks, or $30/month extra.
Using monthly components, 130GB becomes $18.88 Quasar + $25 Complete + $17.88 Solo + $30 storage = $91.76/month before tax and other extras. This is planning arithmetic, not a checkout. Confirm the invoice because prices, eligibility and billing cycles can change.
What one retained copy cannot do
One provider copy can help after server failure, but it is weak protection against a bad deployment, unnoticed corruption, malware or accidental deletion already present when the next backup is generated. Namecheap says provider copies are overwritten and intended for server restoration; customers remain responsible for reserved copies.
cPanel separates schedule from retention and explains failed-backup deletion behavior. Those WHM controls describe customer-managed copies; they do not prove that a reseller-level Complete customer can change Namecheap's provider retention.
Restore and cancellation boundaries
Complete grants reseller-level rather than root access. File or database recovery can depend on the available interface and provider help. Test a low-risk file and database restore before an emergency.
After cancellation, recovery is not guaranteed. Namecheap can restore only if a backup remains available, a restored server may receive a new IP, and downloading an available canceled-server backup without restoration costs $15. This is an emergency path, not an archival service.
Buying checklist and decision
Complete can fit a buyer who wants Namecheap to manage cPanel and accepts one provider-held restore point. It does not fit buyers needing multiple historical versions, root-level backup control or guaranteed post-cancellation recovery.
Before buying: measure protected data; price the 100GB ceiling; confirm weekly versus three-times-weekly generation; confirm the one-copy rule; test a restore; and keep an independent external copy. WHM supports separate schedules and destinations, while other providers publish different prices and restore-point depth—proof that policies are not interchangeable.
