The monthly plan starts at $2.50 for the first month and renews at $7; longer prepaid terms are $15 for 6 months, $30 for 12 months and $60 for 24 months, renewing at $42, $84 and $168 respectively. Standard uses DirectAdmin and includes weekly backups, unlimited published storage/transfer/email and free migration.

The renewal schedule is clearer than most budget-host offers
InterServer publishes the full Standard billing ladder instead of only a monthly equivalent. One month is $2.50 then $7; 6 months is $15 then $42; 12 months is $30 then $84; and 24 months is $60 then $168.
That means the renewal monthly equivalent is consistently $7 on the currently published cycles. Save the exact checkout line anyway, because taxes, domains and add-ons can price separately.
Standard is not the same thing as the separate $5 Price Lock campaign
The Standard technical-details page still lists “Price Lock Guarantee” as included. But the current Standard pricing page explicitly shows $2.50 first month and $7 renewal, while a separate official Price Lock campaign promises $5 per month for life for the eligible account ordered through that campaign.
Those pages do not support saying that Standard's $2.50 intro rate is locked for life. This guide therefore treats Standard's published $7 renewal schedule as the current fact and keeps the $5 lifetime promise tied only to the separate Price Lock campaign. If “price lock” matters to the buying decision, confirm the exact product name and renewal line in the cart.
Weekly backups currently mean four retained weekly restore points
InterServer's current Standard page says weekly backups are included. Its shared-hosting backup documentation gives the important retention detail: Standard shared hosting uses JetBackup with weekly backups and four retained copies, roughly four weeks of history.
JetBackup can include site data, MySQL databases and email, but the documentation also lists exclusions. InterServer's Terms make customers responsible for frequently backing up their own files. Keep an independent backup for important sites instead of treating the four provider copies as the only archive.
Free migration is helpful, but the restore can overwrite the new account
InterServer includes free migration. Its migration instructions say a standard shared-hosting move works best with a full cPanel backup from the old host. The destination account should not contain data you want to keep because the restore can overwrite it.
After migration, compare files, databases, email accounts and disk usage, then change DNS and verify the site before cancelling the old host. This is especially important because the current Standard product itself uses DirectAdmin even though many inbound migrations come from cPanel.
The refund and cancellation deadlines are simple enough to calendar
InterServer's current Terms and refund guide give eligible Standard Web Hosting purchases a 30-day money-back window after signup. The Terms also say services should be cancelled at least three days before automatic renewal to avoid slipping into the next billing period.
That creates two dates worth saving on day one: the 30-day refund deadline and the renewal/cancellation deadline for the selected cycle. Do not assume a refund after the initial 30-day window.
Who Standard fits—and when the $5 Price Lock campaign deserves comparison
Standard fits websites that value a low first payment, published renewal totals, DirectAdmin, weekly backup history and free migration. The 12-month path, for example, is $30 for the first year and currently renews at $84 for the next 12 months.
Before paying, compare Standard with InterServer's separate $5/month-for-life Price Lock campaign if the site will stay for several years. Do not treat them as the same offer. Save the exact product name, billing cycle, checkout total, renewal amount and refund deadline so future billing matches the plan you actually bought.
