TOOLNAVIA / BUYING GUIDE
HostArmada Start Dock vs Web Warp: Is $46.80 More Worth Unlimited Sites?
The short answer
HostArmada Web Warp costs only $46.80 more than Start Dock over the first 36 months at today's published prices. Start Dock is $1.99/month equivalent, or $71.64 for 36 months; Web Warp is $3.29/month, or $118.44. That extra $46.80 changes the plan from one website to unlimited websites, doubles NVMe storage from 15GB to 30GB, doubles the published CPU/RAM from 2 cores/2GB to 4 cores/4GB, and doubles daily backup history from 7 to 14 days.

The first-term upgrade is cheap; the renewal upgrade is not
During the 36-month promotional term, Web Warp adds only $1.30 per month versus Start Dock. That is $46.80 across the whole first term.
At the current regular/renewal references, Start Dock is $9.95/month, or $358.20 over 36 months. Web Warp is $16.45/month, or $592.20 over 36 months. The same upgrade therefore costs $234 more over a three-year renewal at today's published rates.
That makes Web Warp easy to justify when its extra capacity is genuinely useful, but expensive to buy "just in case." The useful question is whether your site portfolio will still need Web Warp after the introductory term.
One site versus unlimited sites is the hardest boundary
HostArmada documents Start Dock as a one-site plan and Web Warp as an unlimited-site plan.
For a freelancer, small agency or business with separate brand, landing-page and project sites, even a second real website turns Start Dock's one-site rule into a hard operating limit.
Unlimited websites do not mean unlimited resources. Web Warp still has 30GB NVMe, 4 CPU cores and 4GB RAM at the account level. A dozen lightweight brochure sites can fit very differently from three busy stores. The site-count label is permission to host more sites, not proof that every workload will fit.
Web Warp doubles the published resource envelope
The current comparison table lists Start Dock at 2 CPU cores and 2GB RAM, while Web Warp shows 4 cores and 4GB RAM. Storage doubles from 15GB to 30GB.
HostArmada's planning guidance also steps up from roughly 30GB acceptable bandwidth and about 30K estimated monthly visitors on Start Dock to roughly 60GB and 60K on Web Warp. These are planning estimates, not hard traffic caps or performance guarantees.
Web Warp can therefore be a rational upgrade for an account approaching Start Dock's capacity envelope, but the resource difference is not a promise of twice the page speed.
Backup history doubles from 7 to 14 days
HostArmada's backup KB documents seven days of daily backups for Start Dock and fourteen for Web Warp.
That extra week matters when a problem can remain unnoticed for more than seven days—for example, a bad plugin update, a slow data-corruption issue or a content error discovered late.
Provider-side backup history is still not a substitute for an independent off-provider copy for business-critical data. The purchase question is how far back you may reasonably need to restore.
Migration capacity rises from one site to three
The current plan table lists one free website transfer on Start Dock and three on Web Warp, while HostArmada's migration documentation explains the access and source-host conditions involved.
If the upgrade is part of moving several existing sites at once, those extra assisted transfers can remove real migration work. Keep the old host active until the migrated sites, mail, DNS and forms have been checked.
The refund window does not erase the long-term decision
Eligible initial shared-hosting purchases have a published 45-day money-back period, subject to exclusions such as domains, add-ons and other policy conditions.
Use that window to verify the actual sites and workflow you intend to keep. It should not be used as a reason to ignore the much larger Web Warp renewal premium.
When Start Dock is the better buy
Choose Start Dock when you have one small site, 15GB is comfortable, the 2-core/2GB envelope is enough, and seven days of provider backup history plus your independent backup meet recovery needs.
Its strongest long-term advantage is not only the $1.99 headline. It is avoiding a materially larger Web Warp renewal bill when you do not need multi-site capacity.
When Web Warp earns the extra cost
Choose Web Warp when you already have more than one site, expect to add sites during the first term, need more storage/CPU/RAM, want a fourteen-day provider backup history, or can use the three included migrations.
The first-term premium is small enough that real multi-site demand makes the upgrade easy to defend. The renewal premium is large enough that hypothetical demand does not.
Bottom line
Web Warp is the better purchase when unlimited site slots and doubled account resources solve a real problem. It costs only $46.80 more over the first 36 months, but at today's renewal references it costs $234 more over the next 36 months.
Buy Start Dock for one settled small site. Buy Web Warp when you can name the second site, extra resource need or longer recovery window before checkout.
