TOOLNAVIA / BUYING GUIDE

HostArmada Email Limits: 3GB, 400 Emails/Hour—and No Newsletters

The short answer

# HostArmada Email Limits: 3GB, 400 Emails/Hour—and No Newsletters

HostArmada's included shared-hosting email can suit a small team that sends normal one-to-one messages and modest website notifications. It is not a newsletter platform.

Current terms set a 3,000MB shared-mailbox ceiling, 400 sent messages per hour for each email account and 10 simultaneous IMAP/POP3 connections. Marketing emails, newsletters and advertising bulk mail are prohibited. The buying question is therefore not simply whether email is included, but whether the real workflow fits the policy.

Check first
3000MB is a ceiling, actual quota may be lower; 400/hour is not marketing permission; 10 simultaneous IMAP/POP3 connections; no newsletters or advertising bulk mail.

The limits that matter

| Workload | Published boundary | Buying implication | |---|---|---| | Mailbox storage | No shared mailbox above 3,000MB | Archive or use dedicated business email for larger active mailboxes | | Sending | 400 messages/hour per email account | Ordinary mail may fit; this is not campaign permission | | Devices/users | 10 simultaneous IMAP/POP3 connections | Count every phone, computer and shared user | | Marketing | Newsletters and advertising bulk mail prohibited | Use a marketing platform even below 400 | | Management | cPanel, Roundcube and device setup | Buyer manages accounts, quotas, passwords and exports |

The 3GB figure is a ceiling, not a promise that every plan assigns the full amount. Confirm the actual quota in checkout and cPanel.

When included email is enough

A solo operator or small team may be comfortable with hello@, support@ and billing@ addresses, ordinary replies, contact-form notices and light password-reset traffic. Create accounts in cPanel, use strong passwords, configure SPF/DKIM/DMARC and test delivery to several external providers. HostArmada documents these tools, but documentation is not a guarantee of inbox placement.

Count connections, not just employees. One person using a phone, laptop and desktop can create several sessions. A multi-device team may reach the ten-connection boundary before reaching the hourly send cap.

When another service is safer

Use dedicated business email when you need larger mailboxes, centralized employee lifecycle, advanced administration, retention or collaboration control. A domain-verified Google Workspace account illustrates the organization-owned account and admin model.

Use a transactional provider for application mail when volume, logs and delivery controls matter. Use a marketing platform for newsletters and promotions. HostArmada's terms contain a general bulk allowance within the cap but explicitly prohibit marketing/newsletter/advertising use, so “under 400” is not marketing permission.

Official SiteGround and Bluehost limit pages plus independent buying guides confirm the broader pattern: shared-hosting mail is constrained infrastructure, not an unlimited campaign channel. Their numbers do not replace HostArmada's terms.

Ordinary correspondence may fit; transactional and marketing mail need purpose-built services.

Five-minute pre-purchase check

1. List every mailbox and its current storage. 2. Estimate peak messages per hour, including website mail. 3. Count simultaneous devices and users. 4. Separate human, transactional and marketing messages. 5. Ask sales to confirm the exact cPanel quota for the plan and market; save the answer.

After purchase, test Gmail, Outlook and another domain, inspect authentication and export a mailbox. Deleting a cPanel account deletes stored mail, so keep an independent copy.

3000MB, 400/hour and 10 connections are policy boundaries, not live usage.

Verdict

Choose Start Dock for email only when cPanel mail is a convenience beside the website: small mailboxes, ordinary correspondence, modest operational notifications and few concurrent clients. Do not buy it as a newsletter system. Use dedicated business email for administration and mailbox needs, transactional email for application delivery and a marketing platform for campaigns. Treat 3GB as the published ceiling, not guaranteed allocation.
