FastComet Cloud 2 VPS: $53.87 Intro, cPanel Solo and No Root

The short answer

FastComet Cloud 2 is a fully managed VPS for websites that need isolated resources without running the server alone. The live plan shows $53.87 per month against a $76.95 renewal reference, with 2 vCPU, 4GB RAM and 80GB storage. The exact upfront term was not captured, so treat the headline as a promotional display.

The $53.87 rate is promotional, not the long-term budget

FastComet lists Cloud 2 at $53.87 per month and a $76.95 regular or renewal price. Its current checkout independently repeats the same sale and former price and identifies Cloud 2 as fully managed with cPanel Solo included. That separates the introductory display from the recurring reference, but it does not establish a personalized invoice, tax, or how much must be prepaid.

Cloud 2 currently lists 2 CPU virtual cores, 4GB ECC RAM, 80GB storage and 4TB bandwidth. Treat those as allocation facts, not proof that a particular store, forum or database workload will be fast enough. Test a representative copy before moving a revenue-dependent site.

Four benefits are useful when management matters

The first benefit is the explicit resource envelope: CPU, memory and storage make it possible to screen whether the plan is plausible before migration. Second, FastComet describes the service as fully managed, with 24/7 technical and system-administration support. That reduces routine infrastructure work, but it does not turn the provider into your application-development team.

Third, the current price table includes cPanel/WHM and free website transfer. Fourth, it lists daily and weekly backups plus free restore. Those features can reduce operational work, but the account and backup scope need closer reading before assuming they replace a larger hosting fleet or an independent disaster-recovery copy.

cPanel Solo means one account, not unlimited independent accounts

This is the most important current control-panel boundary. FastComet's live checkout explicitly says “cPanel Solo Included” for Cloud 2. cPanel's current documentation defines Solo as a license for one cPanel account.

That conflicts with generic text lower on FastComet's VPS page saying VPS customers can create unlimited independent hosting accounts. For a new Cloud 2 order, budget around the exact Solo entitlement unless FastComet provides a different license in writing. “Unlimited websites” can exist inside one account; it is not the same as unlimited independently isolated cPanel accounts.

Current managed plans do not provide root or sudo

Another stale-versus-current conflict appears in FastComet's own documentation. Generic VPS copy still says customers may have superuser-level access, but a knowledge-base article updated in November 2025 opens with an explicit notice that root and sudo are no longer available on any Managed Cloud VPS or Managed Dedicated plan. The same article says older root-access wording is retained only as legacy reference.

That makes Cloud 2 a poor fit when your deployment requires arbitrary system packages, kernel-level changes or unrestricted server administration. FastComet says support can assist with advanced configurations as part of the managed service, but a support request is not equivalent to owning root.

Cloud 2: use the seven-day acceptance window

Included backups are not the same as full off-site server backup

The Cloud VPS comparison lists free daily backups, weekly backups and restore. Separately, FastComet's current off-site backup page sells a fully managed server-backup service starting at $19.95 per month. These are different scopes, so paid server-level off-site backup should not be described as included.

Before relying on recovery, ask what Cloud 2's included backup covers, how many restore points are retained, and whether a full-server incident is covered. Keep an independent export of critical files and databases rather than depending on a single provider copy.

Seven days is the VPS refund window

FastComet's current bundled-services page distinguishes the product families: Cloud Shared Hosting receives the longer guarantee, while VPS and dedicated servers receive a seven-day money-back period. Do not reuse a shared-hosting refund period for Cloud 2.

Use that short acceptance window deliberately. Keep the old host, migrate one representative site, verify forms, mail, scheduled jobs and database writes, confirm the cPanel account structure, and test a disposable restore. Only then decide whether to move production.

Choose Cloud 2 when the 2-vCPU/4GB envelope fits, managed operations are valuable, one cPanel account is enough, and the $76.95 renewal reference still fits the budget. Skip it when you require root, multiple independently licensed cPanel accounts without an upgrade, or a recovery model that depends on an unverified backup-retention promise.
