Cloudways Cloudflare Enterprise Cost: $4.99, 100 GB and the 5-Domain Cliff

The short answer

Cloudways Cloudflare Enterprise starts at **US$4.99 per domain per month** for one to four active domains. It is not included in the base server price. Each subscribed domain includes **100 GB of bandwidth**, after which Cloudways lists **US$0.02 per GB**. The buying decision therefore has two moving parts: how many domains you protect and how much CDN traffic each domain uses.

The surprise is the five-domain price cliff. Four domains cost US$19.96 per month at US$4.99 each. Five domains fall to US$3.99 each, totaling **US$19.95**—one cent less for one more protected domain—if the live invoice reprices all active paid domains into the new tier. Cloudways says the applicable tier depends on the total number of active paid domains, but the dashboard quote should control the final charge.

Quick cost map

| Active domains | Price per domain | Portfolio cost/month | Portfolio cost/year | |---|---:|---:|---:| | 1 | US$4.99 | US$4.99 | US$59.88 | | 4 | US$4.99 | US$19.96 | US$239.52 | | 5 | US$3.99 | US$19.95 | US$239.40 | | 10 | US$2.99 | US$29.90 | US$358.80 | | 25 | US$1.99 | US$49.75 | US$597.00 |

These totals exclude the underlying Cloudways server, tax and bandwidth overage. The add-on is a separate subscription attached to a unique domain.

Why the fifth domain changes the economics

Cloudways applies four volume bands: US$4.99 for 1–4 domains, US$3.99 for 5–9, US$2.99 for 10–24 and US$1.99 for 25 or more. If every active paid domain moves to the band rate, the portfolio thresholds create unusual math:

- 4 domains: US$19.96/month. - 5 domains: US$19.95/month. - 9 domains: US$35.91/month. - 10 domains: US$29.90/month. - 24 domains: US$71.76/month. - 25 domains: US$49.75/month.

That does not mean buyers should activate unused domains simply to chase a tier. Every domain adds DNS, cache, security and ownership work. It means agencies near a threshold should price the whole portfolio instead of multiplying the old per-domain rate.

Bandwidth can matter more than the tier

The first 100 GB per domain is included. Overage is US$0.02 per GB. For one domain at the US$4.99 tier:

- 100 GB or less: US$4.99/month. - 500 GB: US$4.99 + 400 × US$0.02 = **US$12.99/month**. - 1,000 GB: US$4.99 + 900 × US$0.02 = **US$22.99/month**.

SpeedVitals independently publishes the same 500 GB and 1 TB totals. A high-traffic image library or download site can therefore pay more in overage than in the base add-on. Track CDN bandwidth per domain; unused allowance on one domain should not be assumed to offset another without an explicit invoice rule.

The trial has a 100 GB documentation conflict

Cloudways currently offers an automatic free trial on eligible domains. One official Help article says the trial ends when either 30 days pass or the domain consumes 100 GB, whichever happens first, and then converts to paid service. A separate official trial FAQ says the trial includes 100 GB and that overage beyond 100 GB can be charged during the trial.

Those statements do not describe the 100 GB boundary identically. The safe buying rule is to treat 100 GB as a possible charge or conversion trigger, watch usage before reaching it, and cancel in the dashboard before either the time or traffic boundary if you do not want a paid subscription. The trial otherwise auto-converts and the remaining billing month is prorated.

What the Cloudways bundle includes—and omits

Cloudways describes managed setup, edge caching, Argo Smart Routing, advanced DDoS protection, WAF and controls for rate limiting, Browser Integrity Check, crawler blocking, SSL ciphers and hostnames. That can reduce operational work for a WordPress buyer who wants the CDN and security layer managed from Cloudways.

It is not the same as owning a direct Enterprise account with every Cloudflare dashboard control. ThatMy describes the Cloudways version as a curated subset without full Page Rules or custom Workers. The distinction matters: pay for the managed outcome and included controls, not for an assumption that every direct Enterprise feature is exposed.

Who should pay for it

The add-on fits a revenue-producing WordPress or WooCommerce site that needs managed edge caching, WAF and global routing, especially when slow distant-region response or attack exposure has a measurable business cost. SEOPlugin.ai reports a meaningful latency improvement in its test but also calls the per-domain model expensive for portfolios of small sites.

It is harder to justify for a low-traffic brochure site that already works well on Cloudflare Free, or for a buyer who needs Workers and full dashboard control. SpeedVitals likewise argues that a properly configured free plan can already deliver strong edge performance; the paid host bundle is strongest when its managed integrations and safeguards are worth the recurring cost.

Checkout checklist

1. Count only domains that will remain active paid subscriptions. 2. Verify whether the dashboard reprices every active domain at the new volume tier. 3. Add the underlying Cloudways server price; the add-on is separate. 4. Record CDN bandwidth per domain and model US$0.02/GB above 100 GB. 5. During the trial, monitor both the 30-day clock and the 100 GB boundary. 6. Confirm which WAF, caching and control features are exposed for your application. 7. Set a reminder before auto-conversion or renewal. 8. Use the live invoice preview as the final price authority.

**Buying rule**

Choose Cloudways Cloudflare Enterprise when the managed WAF, edge caching and routing are worth at least US$4.99 per revenue domain—and recalculate at 5, 10 and 25 domains because the whole portfolio cost can drop at each cliff. Skip it when Cloudflare Free already meets the site's needs, you require full direct-account control, or projected overage makes the total unattractive.
