Verdict

PureVPN Standard is easiest to evaluate as two billing phases, not as a permanent $2.16/month VPN. The current 2-year offer includes 3 extra months, bills $58.20 for the first 27 months, and then currently renews at $47.95 per year. Each plan includes 10 simultaneous connections, and a VPN-enabled router can protect all devices behind it while using only one of those connection slots.

What the Standard plan includes

The current Standard tier includes the core VPN service and Tracker Blocker without the password manager, data-removal, dark-web, or eSIM extras attached to higher PureVPN tiers. The service supports major desktop, mobile, TV, browser, Linux, and router workflows, but setup method and feature parity vary by platform.

PureVPN's current support says a single account can be installed on many devices while up to 10 devices connect concurrently. That is the direct app/device limit for this article.

Ten connections can stretch further through a router

PureVPN's router documentation gives the household a different way to use those 10 slots. A compatible VPN-enabled router counts as one connection while devices behind that router use the protected network without each consuming another PureVPN connection slot.

That does not mean the account has unlimited direct app logins. If 10 phones, laptops, TVs, and other clients connect independently, the normal 10-connection limit still matters. PureVPN also sells a Multi Login add-on that can raise the direct concurrent limit to 20, 30, 40, or 50 connections; this article does not include that add-on in the formal offer.

$58.20 for 27 months, then $47.95 per year

PureVPN's current checkout lists Standard on the 2-year path at $2.16/month equivalent, billed $58.20 for 27 months, and then auto-renewing at $47.95 annually. Taxes or VAT can apply. The renewal rate can change with notice, so save the checkout rather than treating $47.95 as a lifetime guarantee.

The same checkout also shows Standard at $40.80 for 16 months on its current 1-year promotional path, then $57.95 annually. Monthly Standard is $12.95 for the first month and then renews at its standard monthly price. Those alternatives make the 27-month offer the lowest displayed long introductory commitment today, but the long first term is also the least flexible.

The 31-day refund guarantee is for the initial purchase

PureVPN's current refund policy provides a 31-day money-back guarantee for an eligible first purchase. Renewal payments are explicitly excluded from that guarantee. App Store, Google Play, and orders labeled non-refundable can follow different rules.

That means the safe workflow is to evaluate the service during the first-purchase window, not wait for a renewal and assume the same refund right comes back. Auto-recurring billing can be disabled before the renewal date from the member area or through support.

Card and PayPal purchases commonly use auto-recurring billing; some alternative payment methods can be non-recurring. Check the order method instead of assuming every payment route behaves the same.

How the current VPN alternatives compare

NordVPN Basic currently shows $94.23 for its first 27 months and $139.08/year renewal. CyberGhost currently shows $51.74 for the first 26 months and $51.74/year renewal with seven simultaneous VPN connections. PIA's current one-year direct plan is $47.88 and currently renews at the same annual amount while allowing unlimited simultaneous connections. Proton VPN Plus currently shows $47.88 for the first year and $83.88/year renewal with up to 10 devices. Surfshark currently markets unlimited simultaneous connections on its Starter tier. These are billing-and-device comparisons, not speed, privacy, or reliability rankings.

Affiliate terms and next step

PureVPN's current main affiliate page and April 2026 affiliate FAQ say the monthly plan pays 100% on new signups, yearly and 2-year plans pay 40% on new signups, and renewals pay 35% recurring commission. The current main page also says a 90-day cookie.

An older PureVPN affiliate subdomain still displays a simpler 30% commission and a 60-day cookie. Because the current main site and the 2026-updated FAQ are newer and more detailed, this article uses the 40% new / 35% recurring / 90-day terms as the current public program description, while noting that Toolnavia has not been approved and no tracking link is enabled.

Use the first weeks of the 27-month term to test the actual devices and router setup you intend to keep. Verify whether 10 direct connections are enough, whether a router can consolidate the household, and whether the Standard tier covers the platforms you need. Save the first charge and current renewal amount, then set a reminder well before the annual renewal that follows the introductory 27 months.
