TOOLNAVIA / BUYING GUIDE

CyberGhost VPN: $51.74 for 26 Months, Then $51.74 a Year

The short answer

CyberGhost's current long-term VPN offer costs $51.74 for the first 26 months, then renews at $51.74 per year. That makes the headline $1.99/month an introductory 26-month equivalent, not the ongoing monthly cost. Before choosing the longest term, compare the renewal cadence, seven-device limit, and refund window with how you actually use a VPN.

$1.99/month is introductory; renewal is annual, app-store refund rules differ, and Toolnavia did not test VPN performance.

Read the 26-month offer as two different billing phases

The current direct offer is 2 years plus 2 bonus months at $1.99/month, billed $51.74 for the first 26 months. CyberGhost then states that it auto-renews at $51.74 annually. If that renewal amount remains unchanged, its simple annual equivalent is about $4.31/month—not $1.99. That is still below the current $12.99 monthly plan, but it is a different billing phase and should be budgeted separately.

The shorter choices are easier to read: 6 months is $6.99/month equivalent, billed $41.94 every six months, while 1 month costs $12.99 and renews monthly. All displayed amounts on the current pricing page are US dollars; taxes can apply. Promotions can change, so save the order summary rather than treating an article's screenshot-free price as permanent.

Four plan boundaries to check before paying

**Seven VPN connections at the same time.** CyberGhost says you can install the app on any number of devices, but only seven devices can be connected to the VPN simultaneously. If you hit the cap, remove or disconnect an active device before another can connect. Count concurrent phones, computers, TVs, and other clients rather than total installations.

**A longer direct plan has a longer refund window.** Direct website purchases of 6 months or longer currently have a 45-day money-back guarantee; the 1-month plan has 14 days. CyberGhost says canceling recurring billing is separate from requesting a refund. Purchases made through Apple, Google Play, or Amazon can follow the store's own refund process instead.

**Core VPN access is included without a bandwidth quota.** Current plan pages list apps across major platforms, unlimited bandwidth/traffic, an automatic kill switch, DNS/IP leak protection, and OpenVPN, IKEv2, and WireGuard support, with servers in 100 countries. These are documented plan features, not Toolnavia measurements of speed, leak resistance, or availability from every location.

**Smart DNS is a different tool, not extra VPN device slots.** CyberGhost's Smart DNS documentation says devices on the same external-IP network do not have a separate Smart DNS device-count limit, but Smart DNS and the VPN cannot be used simultaneously. It can help on devices that do not run the VPN app, yet it should not be described as expanding the seven simultaneous VPN connections.

First term $51.74, then $51.74 each year

The purchase decision is easier when the timeline is explicit. The first $51.74 covers 26 months. After that, the current checkout says $51.74 for each annual renewal. If the displayed renewal stays unchanged, the first renewal buys 12 months for the same dollar amount that initially bought 26 months.

CyberGhost's support page explains the general rule: long-term offers use an introductory rate for the initial period and renew annually at the standard rate shown at checkout. The subscription auto-renews unless you cancel before the renewal date. The checkout terms can change with advance notice, so the order confirmation and account renewal date should control your future budget.

For comparison, NordVPN Basic currently shows $94.23 for its first 27 months and renews at $139.08/year; ExpressVPN Basic shows $83.72 for the first 28 months and then $99.95/year; PIA's current 1-year plan is $47.88 and renews annually at $47.88, while PIA also allows unlimited simultaneous VPN devices. These are current billing-and-scope references, not claims that one VPN is faster or more private.

Suggested rehearsal: seven-device and cancellation checks

Before moving every device, start with a few noncritical clients. Confirm the app connects on the platforms you actually use and note which devices occupy active slots. Then add enough test clients to understand the seven-device behavior and practice removing one from account management without touching an important connection. These are proposed checks, not Toolnavia test results.

Also locate the renewal date and cancellation control in the account. If the plan does not fit, turn off future billing before the deadline; if you also want a refund and remain eligible, contact support separately within the applicable guarantee window. Do not assume one action performs both tasks.

Buy the renewal schedule, not just the intro monthly number

The 26-month plan is most attractive when the first-term $51.74 commitment, seven simultaneous VPN connections, and later $51.74 annual renewal all fit your use. Choose the monthly or 6-month option when flexibility matters more than the intro discount. Recheck the live checkout immediately before paying.
