Movavi Screen Recorder: $44.95/Year or $19.95 Monthly?

Verdict

Movavi Screen Recorder is a straightforward paid recorder when you want system audio, microphone, webcam, drawing, screenshots, and scheduled captures without the trial watermark. Movavi's current product-comparison page lists Screen Recorder at $44.95/year in its USD reference. The product page also shows a $19.95 monthly reference, while the live purchase page localizes currency by region.

The best first step is still the 7-day Trial, because it lets you test the exact capture workflow before a recurring subscription.

The 7-day Trial is useful, but it is visibly limited

Movavi's current Screen Recorder page says the Trial lasts seven days. Exported trial recordings include a watermark, and the trial cannot add a description or tags before sharing a video to YouTube.

The paid recorder removes the watermark and includes screen/system-audio capture, speaker and microphone audio, webcam capture, freeform drawing, full-page screenshots, cursor/click/keystroke highlighting, scheduled recording, and other capture tools documented across Movavi's current product pages.

Movavi also states that Screen Recorder does not capture copy-protected video and audio streams. If the only content you need is DRM-protected, paying does not remove that limitation.

The current Screen Recorder purchase page also advertises a separate seven-day trial of Movavi Video Editor. That editor trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless canceled. The exact renewal amount is localized by region; the live checkout currently shows it as a separate recurring item.

Movavi's cancellation support makes the boundary explicit: Program subscriptions, Movavi Effects, and Templates are managed separately. Canceling one subscription does not automatically cancel the others.

So before completing checkout, inspect every selected add-on. If you activate the optional Video Editor trial, put its cancellation date on your calendar separately from the Screen Recorder renewal.

$44.95 yearly versus the monthly route

Movavi's current "Choosing your program" page lists Screen Recorder at $44.95/year in USD. The current product page shows a $19.95 purchase reference for Screen Recorder, and current regional checkout pages can localize the actual amount and tax.

At the current USD references, three unchanged $19.95 monthly payments would be $59.85, already above the $44.95 annual reference. That does not make Annual automatically better: a one- or two-month project can still cost less on Monthly, and the final regional checkout can differ.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Movavi's 2026 EULA says renewal is charged at the then-current rate, plus applicable taxes, and that Movavi can change pricing or payment terms for a future renewal after notice. Therefore $44.95 is a current annual reference—not a guaranteed lifetime renewal price.

Cancellation does not automatically refund the current period

Movavi's support says canceling a program subscription stops future renewals but keeps access active through the end of the paid period. The current paid period is not automatically refunded.

The direct refund policy is conditional and generally requires a request within 14 calendar days. Qualifying cases include a persistent technical issue that Support cannot resolve within 14 days, duplicate purchases, unresolved activation problems, and a few other defined cases.

Refunds are not normally provided because the buyer changed their mind, no longer needs the product, found another product they prefer, or dislikes a feature that was available to evaluate in the trial. That makes the 7-day Trial a real part of the purchase decision rather than a formality.

Alternatives show different Free and paid models

Bandicam's current personal Annual license is $33.26/year for one PC, while its Perpetual 2027 license is $53.90. Its Free version can record for up to five minutes per recording, and personal licenses are for non-commercial use; business use requires a Business license.

EaseUS RecExperts currently lists $19.95 monthly, a Yearly plan displayed at $5.80/month, and a $119.95 Lifetime option for one computer.

OBS Studio is free and open source for recording and live streaming on Windows, macOS, and Linux. These are pricing-and-scope references, not capture-quality, performance, or ease-of-use rankings.
