Intego X9 to ONE: Check Your Free Migration Before Buying Again

The short answer

Before buying Intego ONE, check whether your current X9 bundle already qualifies for migration. Intego's current policy offers a no-additional-purchase route for active Mac Internet Security X9 and Mac Premium Bundle X9 subscriptions. A missing upgrade button is not, by itself, a reason to pay for the same coverage again.

Affiliate disclosure: Toolnavia may earn a commission on eligible paid purchases through this article's Intego buttons. They open the merchant homepage. An existing customer's complimentary migration is a separate account process, not a paid order you must place through our link.

Not all legacy plans qualify; component continuity and add-on billing require confirmation.

Identify the exact subscription first

Read the full product name in your existing account or receipt. The current self-service route is limited to the two eligible bundles; standalone VirusBarrier, Washing Machine, ContentBarrier and Dual Protection are among the different products that do not automatically qualify. A terminated subscription is also different from an active paid term.

Write down the product, covered Macs, paid-through date and any separate services. Do not rely on an old review calling everything an 'Intego subscription.' That loose description can conceal a different license and lead to a second recurring bill.

Eligible migration moves the existing subscription into the corresponding ONE experience; it does not mean you have to buy a fresh introductory plan. Changing to more features or devices is a separate purchase decision. Confirm the resulting tier in the actual upgrade summary before accepting it.

Check the whole household, not just the new Mac

The current migration guidance requires macOS12.4 or later, Intel or Apple silicon, at least8GB memory and2GB available storage. Check each covered Mac. A new laptop passing that test does not establish that an older family computer can move too.

This matters because the migration FAQ describes legacy access ending at renewal after an eligible bundle moves. A household with unsupported Macs should ask about continuity before migrating the shared subscription. Do not trade a convenient installation today for an unplanned gap on another machine later. Our [family-seat guide](/en/software/intego-family-mac-seats) explains how to inventory actual installations.

Separate replacement tools from separately billed add-ons

Current ONE plans have their own feature ladder: Essential includes Antivirus and Firewall, Advanced adds SmartClean, and Complete adds further privacy/mobile tools. A newer product name does not establish that every legacy backup or parental-control workflow has an identical replacement.

The payment policy says Personal Backup and Intego Privacy Protection add-ons continue separately, including their billing. List what each service actually does before canceling anything. Paying for the new suite does not automatically cancel an older independent VPN or backup charge.

Official help also differs on precisely which other X9 applications are removed during installation: the migration-payment page describes VirusBarrier removal and temporary access to other X9 apps, while the missing-tile guide describes broader legacy-app removal. For a workflow that depends on an old component, get account-specific confirmation rather than assuming it remains installed. This guide does not promise a particular legacy-app removal sequence.

Keep a current independent backup before changing security software. Apple's Time Machine documentation provides one supported Mac backup route. That is a preparation step, not a claim that ONE supplies the same backup function or that Toolnavia has tested your restoration.

Check existing entitlement before a new purchase
Original account-decision guide; eligibility is not universal.

Free migration is not a frozen renewal price

Treat the transfer cost and the next subscription bill as separate questions. The account's actual confirmation and renewal screen determine the ongoing amount; a complimentary move is not a perpetual license or a promise to retain every old price indefinitely. The migration FAQ discusses potentially higher ONE renewal pricing and separately continuing add-on bills.

Compare the resulting tier, next charge, date and currency with the services you still need. Any offered account-specific renewal concession should be verified in the confirmation rather than advertised as a universal coupon. A new-customer price on the public store is not automatically an existing customer's renewal.

A missing tile can mean more than one thing

Intego's current troubleshooting guide distinguishes an ineligible product, an already-completed migration, a terminated plan and a browser/account-display problem. Check for an upgrade confirmation and the ONE account before making another purchase.

For an eligible active bundle whose tile is absent or fails to open, contact official support with the exact product, Mac version and account details through its private support channel. Do not post credentials or receipts in a public comment. Trying another normal browser may help distinguish a display problem, but purchasing another plan is not a sensible browser repair.

When a separate ONE purchase does make sense

A new buyer or an ineligible legacy customer can compare a separate ONE subscription when its current tools fit the actual Macs. The [Essential guide](/en/software/intego-one-essential) explains the entry scope and renewal reference. A mixed-device household can also compare Bitdefender, Norton or AVG, while checking platform-specific features rather than treating device counts as a protection ranking.

Choose the route that preserves needed work with the fewest unnecessary recurring charges. Confirm the new entitlement and coverage before making a deliberate decision about an old renewal; migration, cancellation and refund requests are different actions. No account changes have been performed as part of this documentation-based guide.
