Intego ONE Complete for Mac + iPhone: What Are You Actually Buying?

The short answer

Intego ONE Complete can make sense for someone who uses a Mac and an iPhone and wants fewer separate security subscriptions. The important distinction is that the two devices receive different tools. Buy it for the combination you will actually use, not because the word Complete suggests identical protection everywhere.

iPhone tools differ from Mac antivirus; current iOS18.2+ and iPhone-only support.

Two devices, two different jobs

On the Mac, Complete combines antivirus, firewall, SmartClean and VPN. On the iPhone, the current app provides VPN, Wi-Fi checks and a device-security check-up. It is not the Mac antivirus running on a smaller screen.

That distinction makes the bundle easier to evaluate. Mac security protects a desktop workflow; mobile tools help you review connections and settings. Neither a passing Wi-Fi check nor an active VPN establishes that every website, message or payment request is trustworthy. Continue to verify the service you are using rather than treating a connection indicator as an approval of its content.

Check the phone before comparing discounts

The current Intego setup guide requires iOS18.2 or later and says the app is supported on iPhone only. Installation on other iOS devices may be possible, but proper operation is not guaranteed. Each Mac seat in Complete includes one iPhone seat.

For one Mac and one supported iPhone, that is a straightforward pairing. An iPad-heavy household should not count iPad coverage as confirmed. An older phone that cannot meet the requirement should not be the reason to upgrade. The Mac and phone need to be checked separately; successful Mac installation does not establish phone compatibility.

Apple already provides controls for app access to location, photos, camera and microphone, plus tracking permissions and the App Privacy Report. Complete's convenience must add something you value above maintaining those settings yourself. It does not remove the need to choose sensible permissions.

Identify what the bundle would replace

The strongest case is not simply that Complete includes more features. It is that you want its Mac tools and would otherwise pay for, configure or repeatedly check a separate phone-privacy workflow. One account and a clear device pairing can be easier to maintain than several unrelated renewals.

The weaker case is already owning a VPN that works on all the devices you need. NordVPN publishes an iPhone/iPad app and a multi-device subscription path; Proton also documents its iOS/iPadOS app as a separate VPN option. Those are alternatives to evaluate, not claims that either is faster or more protective.

Write down your existing VPN's next renewal, covered devices and indispensable features. If it remains necessary for other devices, buying Complete might add a bill rather than replace one. If it can genuinely replace that service, compare the combined cost over the same period.

The upgrade is $9.50 now, but $20 at the displayed renewal

The published USD one-Mac-plus-one-iPhone Complete checkout shows $58.49 for the first year and $89.99 at annual renewal. Advanced's one-Mac reference is $48.99 initially and $69.99 at renewal. The arithmetic difference is $9.50 initially and $20 in a renewal year, before applicable tax. Future renewal and localized offers can differ.

These differences matter only when Advanced was already the right purchase. Starting from Essential or from no paid Intego plan requires a different comparison. Our [Essential guide](/en/software/intego-one-essential) and [SmartClean buying test](/en/software/intego-smartclean-value) help establish that baseline. Do not count the same avoided subscription twice or assume a first-year promotion repeats indefinitely.

Check whether Complete replaces a real subscription
Original purchase checklist, not a speed or leak test.

Test the everyday connection routine

Before committing to a long period, define a practical evaluation: install through the official route, confirm the subscription is recognized, review the phone's check-up, and verify normal browsing and the apps you depend on. Intego's guide describes signing in with the existing ONE account; downloading the app alone is not the same as obtaining a Complete entitlement.

Use your ordinary Wi-Fi and cellular routine to check that you understand connection status and alerts. Do not enter sensitive information on an unfamiliar hotspot merely to test the software. These are suggested acceptance steps, not a Toolnavia speed, leak or malware test.

Choose by the devices you will keep using

Choose Complete when the supported Mac-and-iPhone pairing, Mac tools and mobile workflow all serve a real need. Keep a lower Mac tier plus your existing VPN when that combination is already effective and less duplicative. The right purchase is the one whose coverage and recurring bill remain useful after the introductory price ends.
