Constant Contact Cancellation vs Refund: What Happens to Your Money & Data?

Cancel to stop future billing
Constant Contact says cancellation takes effect at the next billing date. Online cancellation stops the subscription from continuing, but it does not automatically create a refund request.
The 30-day guarantee is conditional
Constant Contact's money-back page describes a conditional 30-day guarantee after the first payment. The guarantee generally applies to the base Email & Digital Marketing plan; add-ons and many fees are excluded.
Prepayment reduces flexibility
Constant Contact offers 6- and 12-month prepayment discounts. The trade-off is that prepayments are generally nonrefundable, so the lower effective monthly price can create a larger sunk balance if plans change.
Export data before the account disappears
Constant Contact says post-cancel account data is only guaranteed to remain stored for 30 days. Export contact lists, including unsubscribed records you may need for compliance, before relying on any longer retention.
Billing tier still matters until cancellation
Standard billing depends on plan and contact tier and auto-renews under the account's billing cycle. Canceling late can therefore leave the next billing event already due.
Other email platforms use different rules
ActiveCampaign, GetResponse and AWeber all use different recurring and annual billing structures. Their cancellation/refund rules should not be copied onto Constant Contact.
Constant Contact has a public affiliate program, but Toolnavia approval and tracking are unverified.
Buying rule
Cancel when you want to stop future billing. If your first paid period is recent and you want money back, separately check the 30-day guarantee. Before account closure, export important contact and compliance data because only 30 days of post-cancel storage is guaranteed.
