AdGuard Cancellation vs Refund: Why Canceling Does Not Mean Money Back
The short answer
AdGuard treats subscription cancellation and refund as different actions. Website subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled, while a canceled subscription remains usable until its expiry date.
AdGuard's license documentation separates recurring one-year subscriptions from Lifetime licenses and confirms Personal covers 3 devices while Family covers 9. This guide is specifically about the recurring-subscription exit path.
At a glance
- Best for
- A buyer who wants to avoid an unwanted renewal or has a recent website purchase and needs to know whether a refund request is still timely.
- Price model

- Cancellation is not a refund; app-store/reseller paths can differ.
Cancel when the goal is to stop the next charge
If you still want the time you already paid for but do not want another renewal, cancel the subscription in your AdGuard account. This prevents the next automatic charge rather than immediately terminating the current license.
Access continues until expiry
AdGuard says a canceled subscription remains valid through the paid expiry date. You can therefore disable renewal without giving up the rest of the current term.
Refund is a separate support request
AdGuard currently advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee and directs buyers to contact support for the refund. Canceling auto-renewal alone should not be treated as a refund request.
Timing matters
The refund window should be measured from the actual purchase date. If the goal is to recover a recent payment, contact support promptly rather than only turning off renewal.
Discounted renewals can cost more later
AdGuard's terms say discounted subscriptions can renew at full price and recurring charges continue until canceled. A buyer who purchased during a sale should check the account before the next billing date.
Compare other ad-blocking ownership models
1Blocker offers monthly, annual and Lifetime options, while Ghostery and Malwarebytes Browser Guard provide free browser-focused routes. Those products trade off platform scope, recurring cost and ownership differently.
AdGuard has a public affiliate route, but Toolnavia approval and tracking are unverified.
Buying rule
Cancel the subscription when you want to stop the next automatic charge but keep the rest of the paid term. Separately request a refund within the current 30-day window when you want a recent eligible payment returned.
