TOOLNAVIA / BUYING GUIDE
Pressidium Email Hosting Cost: What 1–5 Mailboxes Add
The short answer
**Quick answer:** Pressidium relays ordinary WordPress-generated messages through MailChannels, but that is not a business mailbox. If you need addresses such as `you@yourdomain.com` for people to receive and reply to mail, budget a separate mailbox service. At current US list prices, one mailbox adds about **$12/year with Zoho Mail Lite**, **$84/year with Google Workspace Business Starter**, or **$84/year with Microsoft 365 Business Basic**. Add those amounts to Pressidium Starter’s current **$299 annual payment**: about $311 or $383 for one user.

Mail relay is not mailbox hosting
Pressidium says normal WordPress mail is sent automatically through MailChannels. That covers site-generated messages such as password resets, form notifications and order notices, subject to MailChannels policies. Pressidium also says its infrastructure is not intended for newsletters or mass campaigns and recommends a specialist third-party service for that work.
A mailbox does a different job: it receives mail for a person or team, stores it, and lets users send and reply from their domain. Independent Pressidium reviews consistently identify email hosting as not included. Therefore, a working WordPress notification does not prove that `support@yourdomain.com` exists as an inbox.
The mailbox cost for 1, 3 or 5 users
For a budget baseline, Zoho Mail Lite currently lists **$1 per user/month billed annually** for 5 GB, with no monthly option. Google Workspace Business Starter lists **$7 per user/month on an annual commitment** or $8.40 on the flexible plan. Microsoft 365 Business Basic lists **$7 per user/month paid yearly**.
Using annual pricing, the mailbox-only totals are:
- **1 user:** Zoho $12; Google $84; Microsoft $84 per year. - **3 users:** Zoho $36; Google $252; Microsoft $252 per year. - **5 users:** Zoho $60; Google $420; Microsoft $420 per year.
With Pressidium Starter’s $299 annual payment, the combined first-year baseline becomes **$311/$335/$359** for Zoho at 1/3/5 users, or **$383/$551/$719** for Google or Microsoft at the same seat counts. Taxes, domain registration, migration work and optional security or archiving can change the invoice.
Three email jobs require three decisions
Do not buy one tool and assume it covers every kind of email.
**WordPress transactional mail** includes password resets, contact-form alerts and purchase receipts. Pressidium’s MailChannels relay is designed for ordinary site mail, but sending policies still apply.
**Human mailboxes** are the inboxes your staff use every day. Choose Zoho, Google or Microsoft by storage, collaboration tools, admin controls, migration and support—not only the lowest seat price.
**Marketing or bulk mail** belongs on a specialist platform. Pressidium explicitly says its hosting is not intended for mass emailing. A mailbox subscription also does not automatically authorize newsletter volume or replace consent and deliverability controls.
What to configure before launch
First, create the mailbox service and verify the domain. Then publish the provider’s MX records so incoming mail reaches the right system. Configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC deliberately; do not overwrite existing records without merging valid senders. Finally, test four paths: WordPress password reset, form notification, order email if applicable, and a two-way conversation from the human mailbox.
Keep the identities separate. A contact-form message can be relayed by Pressidium while replies go through Google, Microsoft or Zoho. Document which service owns each path so future DNS changes do not silently break mail.
Price conflict and buying rule
Some independent directories still list Pressidium from **$21/month**, while Pressidium’s current entry-plan page shows Starter at **$25/month** and **$299 paid annually**. This guide uses the current official page for the hosting baseline. Verify the live cart before payment; the mailbox arithmetic remains separate.
Verdict
Pressidium includes ordinary WordPress mail relay, not employee inboxes and not bulk-email infrastructure. For one user, the visible annual baseline is about **$311 with Zoho Mail Lite** or **$383 with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 Business Basic**, including the $299 Pressidium Starter annual payment. At five users, those baselines rise to **$359** or **$719**.
Choose Pressidium for managed WordPress operations. Choose the mailbox provider separately for people, storage and collaboration. Choose a marketing platform separately for campaigns. That three-part budget prevents “email included” from becoming an expensive launch-day misunderstanding.
