Namecheap Stellar Total Cost: Trial or 2-Year Plan, Domain & Email

The short answer

Namecheap Stellar fits one to three small sites when its live checkout and renewal budget are clear. Choose between a 30-day trial that converts to paid hosting and a discounted two-year prepayment; then budget domain renewal and optional Private Email separately.

Two routes into the same Stellar plan

Namecheap’s direct hosting page currently shows a 30-day trial at $0, followed by $2.28/month on the selected Stellar route. A separate official campaign page shows $44.88 for the first two years, billed upfront, then $102.88 for the next two-year term. These are alternative checkout presentations, not stackable discounts.

For a like-for-like two-year view, $44.88 is about $1.87/month. The published two-year renewal is $102.88, or about $4.29/month—a $58 increase per two-year cycle. The official May 2026 renewal table also lists $55.88 yearly and $5.88 monthly. Use the final checkout summary as the controlling document because the path, term and promotion can change.

Choose the prepaid route only when the full $44.88 invoice appears and you expect to keep the sites. Choose the trial route when testing cPanel first matters more than locking the lowest first-term equivalent.

Four concrete benefits inside the hosting fee

Stellar supports up to three websites, includes 20 GB SSD storage and provides 30 cPanel mailboxes.

- Three site slots can cover a company site, campaign microsite and personal project without three hosting subscriptions. - Twenty gigabytes is a practical allowance for modest WordPress sites when images are compressed and video is stored elsewhere. - Thirty cPanel mailboxes can cover role addresses such as hello@, billing@ and support@ for a small team. - cPanel centralizes files, databases, SSL and email management without buying a separate basic control layer.

These are useful boundaries, not performance guarantees. Stellar is not a fit for more than three sites, storage-heavy media libraries, managed cloud scaling or buyers who need a premium collaboration suite by default.

The domain may be free first year, but renewal is still a budget line

The current two-year campaign says one eligible, non-premium domain can be free or discounted for the first year, with free privacy for eligible TLDs. That does not make the domain free for the whole hosting term. Namecheap’s current .com example is $11.28 for a new registration and $18.48/year to renew, while other extensions differ and some domains add an ICANN fee.

So the honest budget has three lines: hosting now, hosting renewal, and domain renewal. If your checkout does not show the first-year domain benefit, do not assume it. If it does, save the eligibility and renewal details shown for the exact TLD.

Included cPanel mailboxes are not the same as Private Email

The 30 cPanel mailboxes are included with Stellar. Namecheap Private Email is a separate product. Its current Launch plan includes one mailbox and is shown at $14.88/year after a 30-day trial; Expand and Scale cost more. Private Email can make sense when its dedicated webmail, calendar, larger mailbox quotas or collaboration features matter. It is not mandatory for a small team satisfied with the included cPanel mailboxes.

That distinction can prevent an unnecessary add-on. Compare workflow and storage needs before paying for a second email product.

Hosting includes site, storage and cPanel mailboxes; domain renewal and Private Email need separate checks.

Refund boundaries should change the trial decision

Namecheap’s refund policy says eligible first-time Shared Hosting purchases can receive a 30-day money-back guarantee at its discretion, but the campaign terms say customers who start with the 30-day trial are not also eligible for that guarantee. Domain fees and separately purchased services have their own exclusions; Private Email has a different cancellation window. Do not describe either route as risk-free for every line item.

Next step

Open the exact Namecheap Stellar offer through Toolnavia and verify five items before paying: trial versus prepaid path, full first-term charge, renewal term and amount, eligible first-year domain benefit plus its renewal, and whether Private Email or another add-on is present. Save the checkout summary.

Buy when the three-site, 20 GB and 30-mailbox limits fit and the future renewal remains comfortable. Leave the cart when the long-term cost or limits do not fit; a low first-term equivalent is not a reason to buy the wrong plan.
