HostPapa Growth vs Namecheap Stellar: 5 Sites or Lower Renewal?

The short answer

HostPapa Growth and Namecheap Stellar both target small sites, but they sell very different commitments. **Growth displays US$5.95/month only with a three-year discounted term**, or US$214.20 by arithmetic. **Stellar's monthly view offers one 30-day trial per account and then shows US$2.28/month**, while Namecheap's current plan table lists US$55.88 for a year. These are public price models, not captured checkout totals.

The deeper choice is five sites and 100GB NVMe under one long prepaid term versus three sites and 20GB SSD with a smaller commitment. The renewal gap is also large: HostPapa publishes US$503.64 for another three-year Growth term; Namecheap publishes US$5.88 monthly and US$55.88 yearly for Stellar.

Quick verdict

Choose **HostPapa Growth** when you will actively use four or five modest sites, need 100GB of listed storage, and accept paying three years upfront. Choose **Namecheap Stellar** for one to three lightweight sites when lower commitment and a current annual price of US$55.88 matter more than storage and site count.

First cash: US$214.20 versus a monthly trial path

Growth's US$5.95 display is tied to 36 months. Multiplication gives US$214.20 before tax, paid add-ons or domain charges. The renewal table makes the later three-year envelope US$503.64.

Stellar's monthly selector currently shows a 30-day trial and then US$2.28/month, with one trial per account. Namecheap separately lists US$55.88/year and US$5.88 monthly at renewal. Do not multiply US$2.28 into a guaranteed annual total: the page presents billing-cycle controls, and the itemized cart governs the exact term and due-now amount.

If preserving cash and exit flexibility matters, Stellar's smaller billing commitment is the stronger structure. If you know that five sites will remain online for three years, Growth can justify its higher first invoice.

Capacity: five sites and 100GB versus three sites and 20GB

Growth includes five websites and 100GB NVMe. Its resource chart adds two CPU cores, 1GB memory and 20 entry processes. Those are shared-account ceilings, not dedicated resources, and all five sites compete inside the same envelope.

Stellar includes three websites, 20GB SSD and 30 mailboxes. This is enough for several small brochure or content sites, but media libraries and email can consume 20GB quickly. “Unmetered bandwidth” does not remove CPU, inode, database or acceptable-use limits.

The practical break-even is usage, not the headline monthly rate. Four active sites rule out Stellar's published three-site limit. One or two small sites rarely justify buying Growth solely for unused slots.

Renewal economics change the winner

HostPapa's published annual Growth renewal is US$191.88; three years are US$503.64. Namecheap's current annual Stellar figure is US$55.88, while monthly renewal is US$5.88. Using published tables, Growth costs US$136 more than Stellar for a one-year renewal period.

This is not a performance comparison. Growth's larger site and storage envelope may be worth the premium, but no cited page proves it is faster for your workload. Estimate the value of the fourth and fifth site, additional storage and included security before accepting the renewal spread.

Refunds: both say 30 days, but eligibility matters

HostPapa's current policy covers eligible first-time hosting purchases canceled within 30 days and requires the dashboard process. Namecheap says first-time eligible Stellar accounts may receive a refund within 30 days at its discretion; renewals may be refundable only if canceled within 48 hours.

A free trial is not the same as a refundable paid term. Confirm whether the Namecheap order begins with the trial, when billing starts and whether any domain or third-party license is excluded. For HostPapa, save the initial transaction date and the written cancellation deadline.

Backups and included services are not coupons

Growth advertises staging, security, SSL, migration and 5GB of automated backup for the first year on eligible terms. Stellar includes SSL and twice-weekly internal backups, but Namecheap says those backups are not guaranteed and customers remain responsible for local copies.

These are plan features, not coupons. Neither plan removes the need for an independent off-platform backup and a tested restore.

Why older comparison pages can mislead

HostPapa's direct Namecheap page says its plans were compared on January 15, 2026. Namecheap changed shared-hosting renewals on May 19 and refreshed its plan table in August. Therefore, the current Namecheap pages control price and limits; the older direct page is useful only as intent context.

Independent direct comparisons confirm that buyers evaluate these brands together, but their scores and screenshots cannot replace exact current offer pages.

Who should buy which?

**Buy Growth** for four or five modest sites when US$214.20 of modeled first cash, a 100GB pool and the published shared-resource envelope fit your plan.

**Buy Stellar** for one to three lightweight sites when a smaller billing commitment, 20GB storage and the current US$55.88 annual figure fit.

**Buy neither yet** if you need dedicated resources, guaranteed benchmarks, guaranteed provider backups, or a checkout total that has not been itemized in writing.

Checkout checklist

For Growth, confirm the exact 36-month term, five-site limit, actual due-now total, domain and tax charges, backup duration, refund deadline and selected renewal term.

For Stellar, confirm trial eligibility, monthly versus annual billing, exact due-now amount, three-site and 20GB limits, first paid date, refund window and renewal amount.

**Bottom line:** Stellar is the lower-commitment choice for up to three small sites. Growth is the capacity choice for buyers who will use four or five sites and can justify both the US$214.20 modeled first term and the much higher published renewal.
