Tutor LMS Business vs Individual: Are 10 Sites Worth $200/Year More?
The short answer
Tutor LMS Individual costs $199 per year for one site, while Business costs $399 per year for up to ten sites. The annual gap is $200, but the higher plan does not unlock a separate feature bundle. Both paid tiers currently include all Pro add-ons and features, unlimited courses and users, Pro themes, AI Studio, priority support and one year of updates. A current independent 2026 review corroborates the one-site versus ten-site plan structure. That makes the decision unusually clean: Individual is for one real production site; Business is for a multi-site portfolio.

The feature set is the same — the license count is not
The current pricing cards use the same feature list for Individual and Business. Business does not buy a better course builder, more learners or a different AI Studio. It raises the site allowance from one to ten. That matters for freelancers, training companies with several brands, or operators who maintain multiple course websites. A one-site creator should not pay the extra $200 just because Business is labeled "most popular."
Business can lower the effective cost per active site
If all ten Business activations are genuinely used, the $399 annual license averages about $39.90 per licensed site. Individual is $199 for one site. Even at only two active sites, the Business license averages $199.50 per site. These are internal allocation calculations, not Tutor LMS per-site prices. The key is actual deployment: ten theoretical sites have no value if only one is ever used.
Lifetime licensing changes the long-run math
Tutor LMS also sells one-time licenses. Individual is $499 for one site and Business is $999 for up to ten sites, with lifetime updates on those one-time plans. At unchanged annual prices, $499 is less than three years of $199 renewals and $999 is less than three years of $399 renewals. Lifetime is not automatically best—cash flow, future product changes and expected years of use matter—but it is a real alternative.
Free is still a sensible proof-of-concept
Tutor LMS has a free-forever core with unlimited courses and learners, while paid plans unlock the broader Pro feature set and commercial capabilities shown on the pricing page. A first-time creator can validate the workflow before committing to Individual or Business. Business makes the most sense after the multi-site need already exists.
Agency is for portfolios beyond ten annual-license sites
Agency is $799 per year for unlimited sites on the annual plan. The one-time Agency license is $1,999 and covers up to 50 sites rather than unlimited sites. Business is therefore the natural fit for 2–10 active sites; Agency becomes relevant when a larger portfolio exceeds that boundary.
The affiliate program is open and pays 30%
Tutor LMS currently has a dedicated affiliate application page. Its current affiliate terms publish a 30% commission on the referred customer's first purchase, a 90-day cookie and monthly payouts. Applications are reviewed; coupon sites and self-referrals do not qualify. Toolnavia has not applied or been approved, so affiliate tracking remains disabled.
The buying rule is simple: one production site points to Individual. Two to ten real sites make Business increasingly attractive because the paid feature set is already the same. If you expect to keep Tutor LMS for several years, compare the one-time license before defaulting to annual renewal.
