Quick verdict

ClickFunnels® Launch includes A/B testing, but the feature does not answer the buyer's hardest question: **how much traffic is enough before choosing a winner?** The current funnel-step workflow creates a variation, starts at a 100/0 traffic split, lets you adjust allocation, and reports page views, opt-ins, orders and sales. ClickFunnels recommends running a split test for at least 30 days.

Thirty days is a useful calendar guardrail, not a universal sample-size calculation. A defensible plan also needs the current baseline conversion rate, the smallest lift worth acting on, a significance threshold, target statistical power and the eligible traffic available to both variants.

What Launch gives you—and what it does not

The current pricing page lists A/B Testing and shows Launch at **$97 monthly** or **$970 billed annually**, displayed as about **$81/month** and a $194 annual saving. Recheck the live checkout before paying.

The product can split traffic and show business metrics. It does not remove these design decisions:

- choose one primary conversion event before launch; - define the eligible audience and sample unit; - choose a minimum detectable effect (MDE) that would change a real decision; - set the traffic split intentionally—the default is 100/0; - precommit to a readout date or a valid sequential method; - keep Classic instructions separate from the current ClickFunnels interface.

If the team cannot agree on the metric and MDE, buying the tool will not make the test decisive.

Plan sample size before the first visitor

For a simple two-variant conversion test, a practical fixed-horizon plan often uses 95% confidence and 80% power. Adobe, Sprinklr, Statsig and Optimizely all treat sample size or duration as a function of baseline performance, effect size, traffic and statistical settings—not time alone.

Sprinklr publishes a rough planning formula for equal groups:

`n per variant ≈ 16 × p(1 − p) ÷ d²`

Here `p` is the baseline rate and `d` is the absolute lift. This is a planning approximation, not a guarantee and not a claim about ClickFunnels' internal analytics.

**Worked example:** with a 5% baseline and a target of 5.5%, `d = 0.005`. The approximation gives about **30,400 observations per variant**, or 60,800 total. At 2,000 eligible observations per day with a 50/50 split, the traffic requirement alone is about 30.4 days. A smaller 0.2-point lift from 2.0% to 2.2% needs far more traffic. Use a calculator matched to the actual metric before launch.

Treat 30 days as a floor check, not the finish line

ClickFunnels' current help recommends at least 30 days, while an official ClickFunnels blog notes that high-traffic funnels can sometimes reach conclusive data sooner. Those statements are not mathematically equivalent.

Use both a calendar rule and a sample rule:

1. cover complete weekly cycles and known promotions; 2. collect the preplanned sample in both variants; 3. verify the split is close to the intended allocation; 4. do not stop simply because one line looks better today; 5. extend or call the result inconclusive when the planned evidence is missing.

A 50/50 split accumulates symmetric evidence fastest. A 90/10 risk-control split can be valid, but the smaller group becomes the bottleneck and materially increases required traffic.

Worked example
5.0% → 5.5% · 30,400 per variant

Do not peek your way into a false winner

A fixed-horizon test is not safe to stop at the first attractive p-value. Adobe warns that repeatedly monitoring until significance underestimates uncertainty, and a peer-reviewed simulation study found naive interim monitoring can inflate type-I error or reduce power.

Sequential methods can support valid early reads, but only when the method and boundaries are defined in advance. Do not assume ClickFunnels' dashboard implements an always-valid test unless the current product documentation explicitly says so. For an ordinary funnel-step test, the conservative buying workflow is to plan the horizon first and treat mid-test results as operational monitoring rather than a shipping decision.

Run a purchase acceptance test

Before committing to an annual plan:

- build one control and one meaningful variation; - move the slider from 100/0 to the planned allocation; - confirm the primary event fires on both paths; - verify revenue, opt-in or order counts against the source system; - document baseline, MDE, significance, power, sample target and readout date; - test the root funnel URL, because first-step split behavior differs from later steps; - export the decision log before declaring a winner.

Do not change several major elements at once. If the variant changes headline, offer, checkout and traffic source together, a win will not tell you which decision caused it.

Buying rule

Buy ClickFunnels® Launch for A/B testing when the funnel economics justify $97 monthly or $970 annually, the team has enough eligible traffic for a decision-relevant MDE, and someone owns experiment design and validation.

Start monthly when traffic or the tracking setup is still uncertain. Annual billing saves $194 only if the product remains useful for the full paid year. Low-traffic buyers should first estimate duration: a test that needs months for one useful answer may not justify subscribing mainly for A/B testing.

**Bottom line:** ClickFunnels provides the variation and traffic machinery. A trustworthy winner still requires a preplanned sample, an explicit stopping rule, complete business cycles and verified conversion data.
