AnyTrans Personal vs Family: 1 or 5 Computers?

The short answer

AnyTrans uses “unlimited devices” and “1 computer” in the same plan card, and those are different limits. The $59.99 one-time plan covers unlimited supported mobile devices on one computer; the $79.99 Family Plan raises only the computer allowance to five. If two or more computers must run AnyTrans, the displayed Family price is the practical break-even point.

The $20 decision

At the current direct prices, the Family Plan costs $20 more than the one-computer lifetime plan. One buyer with one desktop or laptop saves $20 by choosing the smaller plan. A household that needs AnyTrans on two computers would otherwise spend $119.98 on two $59.99 licenses, so the $79.99 Family Plan is $39.99 lower at the displayed prices. The same Family license can cover as many as five computers.

That arithmetic is only a license-cost comparison. It does not prove that every task will work on every phone, and it does not settle the checkout tax because the official page contradicts itself: the plan panel says sales tax is excluded, while the FAQ says sales tax is included. Use the final cart total.

Unlimited phones does not mean unlimited computers

The mobile-device count covers supported iPhones, iPads and other devices managed from the licensed desktop software. The computer count covers the Windows or Mac machines where AnyTrans is installed and activated. iMobie's FAQ says one code can be activated on only one computer and recommends Family for multiple computers. The broader EULA also ties use to the number of computers purchased.

This distinction matters when a family has several phones but only one shared PC: the one-computer lifetime plan can still fit. A couple with separate laptops, or a parent using both a home desktop and a travel laptop, needs more than one computer seat even if the same iPhone is connected to both.

Personal versus Family workflow

Choose the one-computer lifetime plan when all transfers, exports and backups can be routed through one stable desktop or laptop. Keep the code on that machine and ask support before assuming a replacement computer automatically releases the old activation.

Choose Family when two to five computers need local access. The plan page presents five computers and unlimited mobile devices with lifetime updates. The official FAQ specifically points people with both a Mac and PC toward Family, but confirm the exact mixed-platform activation process before payment.

Independent pricing reviews reach the same computer-count distinction. iTechGuides and MobilesTalk list one computer for the individual lifetime tier and five for Family. SoftwareHow and ChatExport report the same plan boundary, though the current official cart remains the controlling source.

When Family is still too small

Family is not a business-unlimited license. iMobie's business page starts at ten PCs and Macs and describes annual billing. If six or more computers, shared staff access or company-wide deployment is required, request the matching business license instead of stretching Family.

Before checkout

1. Count computers, not just phones and tablets. 2. Decide whether Windows and Mac both need activation. 3. Compare $59.99 for one computer with $79.99 for up to five. 4. Check the final tax-inclusive cart total. 5. Ask support how replacement computers affect activation. 6. Move to business licensing above five computers or for a shared company workflow.

Buying rule

For one computer, buy the $59.99 one-time plan only if the live cart still matches your market. For two to five computers, the $79.99 Family Plan is the cheaper displayed route than buying two individual lifetime licenses. “Unlimited devices” never removes the separate computer limit.
