GreenGeeks Pro Unlimited Sites: When One cPanel Is Not Enough

The short answer

**Quick answer:** GreenGeeks Pro is the lower-cost choice when every site belongs to one owner and one trusted team. “Unlimited websites” does not mean unlimited independent hosting accounts: GreenGeeks says a shared plan has **one owner and one cPanel**, with extra domains added inside that account. It also says reselling is not allowed on shared plans. RH-25 costs more because it provides **25 separate cPanel accounts** managed through WHM.

Current official pricing makes the tradeoff concrete. Pro is **$4.95/month prepaid for 12 months ($59.40)** and renews at **$18.95/month ($227.40/year)**. RH-25 is **$19.95/month prepaid for 12 months ($239.40)** and renews at **$34.95/month ($419.40/year)**. The first-year and renewal premiums for separate-account operations are therefore $180 and $192.

Pro has one cPanel and cannot be resold; separate cPanel accounts do not mean separate physical servers.

One cPanel is the real Pro boundary

Pro lists unlimited websites, 50 GB storage and unmetered traffic, but all addon domains remain inside one shared hosting account. That can be efficient for an owner operating several related brands: one billing relationship, one control panel and one set of trusted administrators.

It is a poor fit when different clients need their own credentials, email administration, backups, suspension or clean handoff. Sharing the master cPanel login would expose account-wide controls. Creating a WordPress administrator for each site limits application access, but it does not create a separate hosting account, separate billing owner or separate cPanel boundary.

“Unlimited” also describes normal website use, not unlimited compute or risk-free consolidation. GreenGeeks' unlimited-hosting explanation retains normal-use limits, while its Pro resource table separately specifies CPU, memory, I/O and inode ceilings. Consolidating ten sites does not multiply those account-level resources by ten.

What RH-25 isolation actually buys

RH-25 uses WHM to create up to 25 cPanel accounts. Each client or project can receive its own cPanel login, package quotas, email area and account lifecycle. Independent cPanel-host documentation describes standalone accounts as separating file structures, databases, email, DNS zones and resource-usage reporting.

This is useful administrative isolation, not a promise of separate physical servers. Reseller accounts can still share upstream infrastructure and finite reseller-level resources. A compromised account should have a narrower file and credential blast radius than multiple unrelated addon domains under one cPanel, but no shared-hosting layout eliminates every provider-, server- or administrator-level risk.

The ownership model matters too. A reseller can suspend an account and hand over a distinct login. GreenGeeks says regular shared hosting is for one owner and cannot be resold. If clients own their sites and contracts directly, separate client-owned hosting accounts may be cleaner than either putting them under your Pro account or becoming their reseller.

Price the boundary, not the website count

At current prices, RH-25 costs $192 more per year at renewal than Pro. That is **$16/month** for separate-account operations.

The per-account capacity math is:

- 5 active client accounts: $34.95 ÷ 5 = **$6.99/month each**. - 10 accounts: about **$3.50/month each**. - 25 accounts: about **$1.40/month each**.

Those figures are capacity allocation, not profit. Your support time, backups, billing, tax, abuse handling and client exits still cost money. A current GreenGeeks guide argues that the decision turns on workflow and ownership, not only on an arbitrary client count. An independent reseller comparison likewise treats WHM and separate cPanel access as the central product difference.

Do not compare Pro's “unlimited sites” with RH-25's “25 accounts” as if both units meant websites. One Pro account may hold many sites; one reseller account can itself host domains according to its package. The units measure different control boundaries.

Migration cost appears later if you postpone isolation

Moving an addon domain out of Pro is not a checkbox. GreenGeeks documents a split-and-migrate process after upgrading to reseller or VPS hosting and currently lists assisted migration at $15 per site. Independent host documentation says the conversion needs administrator-level tooling because files, databases, mail and DNS must be separated.

Before consolidating client sites in Pro, record:

1. who owns each domain and invoice; 2. who needs cPanel, mailbox and backup access; 3. whether one site can be suspended without touching others; 4. how a client receives the site when the relationship ends; 5. which credentials and archives must be separated.

If those answers already require per-client boundaries, paying for reseller hosting at the start can avoid a later migration project. If all sites are yours, use the same team and leave together, Pro may remain the rational choice.

Price conflict and checkout verification

TechRadar currently describes the same Pro capacity but shows a $17.95 renewal price. The current GreenGeeks product and pricing pages show $18.95, so this guide uses the official figure and treats the review amount as stale. Taxes, optional products, currency and checkout terms can change the final total.

The RH-25 product page lists 25 cPanel accounts, 60 GB and 600 GB transfer. A third-party roundup confirms the reseller account-count framing, but the vendor page controls current limits and prices.

Who should choose each plan

**Choose Pro** when one business owns every site, the same trusted administrators can access the whole hosting account, 50 GB and account-level resources fit, and you do not resell hosting.

**Choose RH-25** when unrelated clients need separate cPanel credentials, per-account packages, individual suspension, cleaner handoff or reseller billing. The $16 monthly renewal premium is the price of that operating model—not extra websites alone.

**Choose separate client-owned accounts** when clients should own billing and be able to leave without an account migration. Your agency can receive delegated application access without owning the hosting contract.

Before paying, verify the live Pro and RH-25 totals, account count, storage, transfer, migration scope and refund exclusions.

**Bottom line:** GreenGeeks Pro's unlimited websites are valuable for one owner. They are not a substitute for separate client accounts. Buy RH-25 only when the workflow needs WHM, per-client cPanel boundaries and handoff—not because a marketing table shows a smaller website number.

cPanel's own support discussion also confirms that multiple domains can sit inside one cPanel account when the provider allows addon domains; that is a site-count feature, not a separate-owner boundary.
